Pound for pound, square foot for square foot, this tiny hole-in-the-wall definitely holds its own in terms of its (well-curated) selection. The service on the occasions I've gone has also been spot on: ie, very friendly and helpful, even to people who might not know a whole lot about beer.

After hearing all the good news about Vine Street Market, I had to stop in today to check the place out. I was not disappointed.

Although the store is teeny tiny, it's definitely a beer-lover's type of store. The woman behind the counter (the owner, I'm guessing?) is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and above all enthusiastic about beer. The selection is as good as to be expected in a store the size of a one-car garage, with an emphasis on quality.

There are some updates from earlier reviews: as has been noted, credit cards are now accepted. There is also a small cooler where multi-packs are stored, so it's a reasonable place to stop off to buy beer to bring to a party (provided, of course, your party is in Belltown).

I really liked my visit to Vine Street Market. The proprietor's enthusiasm is infectious, which makes up for the store's admittedly small selection. Apparently they do tastings there as well, which astonishes me -- there's barely room for 3 customers in there. I am looking forward to going there for one just to observe the logistics.

Amazing selection of hard to find beers! If it's sold out at other specialty bottle shops you'll probably be able to find it here. Also they have the cheapest prices in town for bottles and growler fills. The growler fills are always changing and they have things like barrel-aged Midnight Sun beers and Almanac Sours available! They are no longer cash only as well. Amazing store, great service and fantastic selection. A gem in downtown Seattle.

Vine Street Market is a small bottle shop with a very good selection. The owner of the shop was very friendly. The store only has one cooler and a very small growler station. The place is small, but you may find something you've may have not tried.

Great place to visit if you are in the Belltown area.

There are a few special things you must know about this store:
1) The entrance is really easy to miss because the building's address is on Vine Street, but the entrance for this store is actually on 5th Ave right in between Wall St. and Vine St., directly across the street from City Foods.
2) This store is CASH ONLY!
3) There are no coolers in this store, so plan ahead to leave time for chilling.
4) It's a tiny, tiny place, but has an incredible selection.

A visit is TOTALLY WORTH IT though because the prices are the very best I've found in downtown, maybe in all of Seattle, and the selection is almost 100% microbrews. They have a lot of six packs for $7-8 and bombers for $3-5. We even got the Unibroue La Terrible for $8. They have a small selection of wine and saki as well. It's our favorite place to shop for beer in Belltown.

My husband loves trying local NW brews and I'm a die hard Belgian lover and this tiny little store manages to give us both a big selection. It really is the size of a walk-in closet, however the owner tells me she's moving to a bigger store literally one door over, which will give her window space and make the store easier to find. Right now you have to really look for it.

One other thing to note is that the owner is a very sweet lady, but knows nothing about beer. She will fully admit that she doesn't drink alcohol at all, so she listens well and gives all of her recommendations based off of the recommendations of other customers and the info she gets from her distributors. She tells me that she opened the store because she believes that microbrews are enjoyed by people who appreciate the taste and craft of the drinks and that beer encourages people to get together with friends and enjoy life. I can't say that I disagree!
