This was my first stop on my trip to San Diego. It was barely noon when we started to head towards the airport in search of the legendary Stone World Bistro and Liberty Station and we got lost a few times, eventually going into a navy base and then navigating through the interesting gated community style location of the brewery.

We walked in and were immediately greeted by a server, instead of getting a table we went for the bar option. Sitting down and taking a look around the place was done up with rocks and water and the stone logo all over, there was a big court yard with fountains, tons of space.

Big tap list, I would say 30+ beers total, some raritys (an '06 Arrogant Bastard) and one offs from the brewery. The el dorrado IPA was my first pint and the thing was fresh and bright with hop aroma. The food menu was a bit pricey so I just went with a BBQ sandwich (which was ok). The next beer was a barrel aged smoked barley wine, which blew me away. There weren't many people there since it was so early so we got our drinks quickly and the bar tender was friendly. I got my AHA discount when the check came and left with some merch from the store.

In all, if you are in SD its worth a trip for sure, I would like to go back when its busier and get the full experience, but the beer was amazing from the source non-the less.

This is a really cool spot in the old Naval base in San Diego. Not as great as the amazing Escondido location, but very nice in its own right. There's a huge outdoor patio and an even bigger area inside. The food is absolutely amazing (have the beef short rib!) and the beer is, well Stone beer: solid but not spectacular.

This place looks incredible! Wide selection of beers, all of which is top notch and super fresh. Great gift shop with growlers & bottles for sale. Food was exceptionally good. Very cool place!

This was an interesting place. One, it's a very large space. There's an outdoor area with tables and chairs and a smaller outdoor bar. Being my first time here, I thought the outdoor area was it. By itself, it would have been a nice layout. Trying to find my way around, I found out there's a whole other indoor area. I'm assuming the main bar is inside. Second, the area is a re-purposed former military base. Kinda cool.

You can tell Stone invested a lot of money into this place. A plus, the bathrooms were really nice!

The vibe was great. The service wasn't though. There were only 4 guys sitting at the bar, but the 5 or so servers around seemed more content putting their glasses in crates than serving me. I only had one glass of Bruery beer and left. The guest tap list was larger than any other Stone location I've been to, thus far, so that's a plus.

It was nice to visit once. For me, it's more convenient to just hang out at the smaller location by the Santa Fe Depot though the vibe is nowhere close to the Liberty Station location.

I didn't try the food and only had one beer here, mostly because the selection really underwhelmed.

When I visit a brewery I look forward to finding brews that I couldn't pick up in a gas station or that are made especially for the brewery. I didn't find much of that at this location, with a gose---which was nice---being the one exception.

The space itself was massive and felt like visiting Jurassic Park's theme world. Big old gift shop, wide-open interior and theme park feel. Service was pretty impersonal.

Not a place I'd revisit, I don't think.
