How come I didn’t know about this place? Thank you BeerAdvocate for the listing! I’ve been coming to Tulsa for over a decade and this place is one of the best beer destinations down there.
Although you wouldn’t know it from the outside and the area, the upscale fru-fru Brookside district. R is an upscale sports bar full of white people drinking light beer and catching the game. But behold the stunning draft list!
When I visited, they had 8 imperial stouts on tap, including Tallgrass Big Ricc (3.7), Avery Tweak, Black Mesa, Evil Twin Imp Biscotti, Green Flash Silva… plus a bunch of other good, non-stout beers, including sours from Prairie.
A smart bottle selection as well. Service is decent but not great and the atmosphere is what it is. But man, this place rocks. McNellie’s has competition!

The food is ok, but the beer is great. They routinely get awesome stuff on tap and the craft selection is great.

I love this place. Always a stop I make when I'm in Tulsa. They are so beer-forward and ready to keep moving Green Country forward with great beer. I look forward to seeing what they'll do with Prairie and Marshall going forward.

Great bar! Bartenders were really knowledgeable and helpful. They are cool with giving you a sample and talking about a beer before you buy it. Great selection. A lot of prairie beers on tap! A few hard to find offerings as well.

Staying to more of the "Craft" roots than some other places, R-Bar and Grill Tulsa mantains this aspect throughout the entire business. From the beer to the amazing menu, R-Bar is 100% all about Craft. They have one of the best Bar owners anywhere in the world with an excellent crew. All the staff is trained on proper glassware and serving techniques. Each line of the taps is cleaned after any keg changes, even when replacing the same beer on that line. The chef is one of the best in the business when it comes to pairing Beer with Food. He is 2nd to none in my book. If you are in the Tulsa area, make sure to swing by R-Bar and Ask for Josh or Trey! There is nothing they cannot help you with! Cheers!

Easily one of the best bars in Tulsa. They always have the latest craft beers available here. Great selection for a smaller bar, but plenty of seating inside and out. Josh, the owner, is very knowledgeable, and recommends great beers that are priced to be enjoyed. They even had a solid wine list and innovative cocktails for the Mrs. Must try if you're in the area.

Edit: Knocked food down a bit, the Cuban Sandwich I had today, the pork was all dried out.
This a very nice upscale neighborhood eatery/bar in Brookside. I like the layout of the place, nice patio, TVs wrap around the bar & there is music in the background. Parking may be a pain when it's busy here
The 2 beers I had were in fine form
Great, friendly service
20 Beers on tap, no real throw-aways there, Great variety, some decent imports, a little Jolly Pumpkin, Great Divide, Boulevard & a good selection of Oklahoma beers
My Lunch was tasty, had a half a sandwich & half a cup of soup for $8. The rest of the menu looked great as well
Food was pricier than the beer, but not far behind it.
Selection may not be as good as MC, Nellies, but the food is better. As good as any bar I've been to in Tulsa

The R Bar is a small upscale bar and grill in the Brookside area in Tulsa. The food is always great and the beer selection is better than most bar and grills for it's size. The server always presents you with a beer list which is updated monthly. Although the last time I went there they were out of 2 of the selections on the bottle section. They have about a dozen of beers on tap which include some really hard ones to find anywhere else. The outdoor patio is one of the best in town.
