Time. Its story is often lost in the depiction of its result. Basking in the rays of the sun, the clock casts a new shadow and ushers in refreshing new life. What was once here has cured, transformed and grown fuller. And the story of its emergence is paved with untold patience. The Pilsner is the almighty gift of time. Never filtered, the presence of hops provide an aroma suggestive of wildflower, honey and lemon. Keep your palate clean, revel in your beverage.

Poured into a wide mouth, grip shaped goblet: color is straw, transparent, off white/brighter white head presents less than a finger thick, then dissipates to thin top, some spotty lacing on the glass sides.

Smell is subdued - pilsner malt notes of bread and biscuit, some earth and grassy hops but low strength.

Taste is more pronounced than aroma - pilsner malt notes of biscuit, bread, honey, some earthy and grassy hop notes but low.

Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, low/moderate sweetness, lower/moderate bitterness.

Overall - a clean, lighter pilsner than some but maybe to style in more ways than I thought.

On tap at forest camp. White head, lace. Slightly cloudy straw yellow.

Grassy, zesty, hoppy. Crisp, clean, fairly bitter. Biscuit and bready. Crackers.

Smooth and clean. A bit grainy finish. Nice pils.

Golden hued body, clear; fairly dense and lively carbonation; initial thick head, white and sudsy, quickly dissipating to a patchy, sticky glob of foam atop the beer with spidery fingers of suds decorating the interior glass. Very nice aroma of fruit and floral notes; pear and peach; honeydew melon. Light malt base flavor with a moderate hop bitterness; lightly toasted cereal grain; dull, earthy esters. Medium-heavy body; smooth and velvety; a bit sticky; slightly dry.

The beer seems a bit rich and robust for a pilsner yet has some decent enough taste.

I'm not at the necessary aficionado status to do justice to a detailed review. Instead, I'll simply say this beer exceeded my expectations for fantastic drinkability. I was in the mood for a pilsner and grabbed this from the singles cooler. Burial Beer Co. was new to me and I hoped for the best. Poured from a 12 ounce can, I appreciated the expected golden color, but fell in love with a much less bitter taste than I often associate with pilsners. This could account for why some other reviewers suggest placing the beer in another category. Regardless of what you want to call it, I'll search out for more in the coming summer months.

Served at Burial in Asheville.

Crystal clear gold with healthy foamy white head. Aroma is subdued and flavor is mostly slightly nutty Pilsner malt with hop bitterness and a light lemony touch. Feel is good with light body and moderate carbonation and dry finish. Not bad but I don’t really prefer the nutty malt profile.

12oz can poured into a pint

Pours clear golden with a one finger foamy white head that has good retention. Smells of Pilsner malt, crackers, honey and light floral hops. Tastes of toasted grains, spicy floral hops and a slightly honey sweetness. Light body with medium carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and a crisp finish

A - Pours clear golden loveliness. White head, extensive lacing.

S - Sharp funkiness, a bit of honey and grass, spiciness.

T - Brisk and bright, lemon and grassy hop notes, a cracker malt middle, and dry herbal bitterness in the finish.

M - Strong carbonation, light weight, a touch of building resin on the finish.

O - This is a pretty pushy Pils. Not bad, but a little rough around the edges.

This is not a true Pilsner in any way shape or form; has fruity aftertaste, and a very unpleasant fizz. Burial should bury this one!

Look - I never give high ratings on pilsner looks but this looks fantastic. Bright golden very slight haze with a big white lasting head
Smell - straw fields, slight sweetness
Taste - nice easy going grainy with a slight citrus and sweetness to it.
Feel - medium light body and carb
Overall - really nice pils
