Notes: A blade for many a pocket, this IPA displays malt in its most elemental form: Pilsner, Oats, and locally grown and malted rye. Mosaic, El Dorado, and Galaxy hops present a sharp, citrus punch while the addition of Simcoe to the dry hop adds a final piney complexity to this easy sipping, hazy IPA.

Hawkbill is a slightly hazy, effervescent, straw-colored IPA with a large, brief-lived creamy white head that leaves good bands of highly rotten lacing. The nose is medium in intensity and leads with bready malt notes that are quickly overtaken by a nice blend of tamarind and grapefruit with more subtle spicy florals and hints of body odor; slight alcohol overtones top things off. Up front, the palate is assertively bitter, thinnish pineapple with hints of banana, caramel and spicy florals. Mid-palate, the pineapple is joined by tart citrus and a bit of grassiness, and the spicy florals intensify a bit and become more candy-like, while a subtle yeastiness emerges to join the estery character. The malt doesn't really show any more than it does up front. Overall, the flavor remains a bit thin. The finish is fairly dry and quite clean, showing just a flash of tart citrus, and feels a bit watery; the linger is a mild, slightly grassy earthy bitterness that lasts awhile. Retrogustative olfaction is modestly grassy/candy-like. Mouthfeel is slightly astringent and is on par with the light body; the texture is medium-creamy, quite slick and medium-peppery from the well-expressed carbonation. (12 oz can, 26 days after pkg)

There’s a “waxy” aftertaste to it that’s not so after, more like 65% of the way through.
I wish I was a more nuanced taster and could attribute it to something expressable using brewing terminology etc. Alas I can not
“Waxy” is all I can come up with

It poured a bright hazy peach color with a heavy and foamy white heat that stuck to the glass. Noted aromas of lemon, peach and subtle onion. It’s not so aggressive and hoppy to the nose, rather flora instead. But then after a sip there were strong notes of lemon, pineapple, and mango. It has both tropical flavors and highlights of a lemony cocktail. There is perfect carbonation with a smooth and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall an excellent IPA. Maybe not worth seeking out but if you come across it or are in Asheville, definitely drink this.

Pours a hazy golden. Some tangerine on the nose. There's a strong underlying oat malt bill, with a tangelo citrus character that compliments it. Overall, it's a soft and crushable IPA.

L: Pours a light golden yellow with a finger of white head. It recedes slowly leaving lacing all the way down the glass.

S: Citrus, mango, pineapple, grapefruit.

T: Follows nose with some orange and some pine bitterness on the finish. Relatively dry.

F: Medium body, moderately carbonated.

O: A high quality IPA. Real happy to see an Asheville brewery in NY.

Pours a nice, rich golden color with about a finger of head. It has some light coming through, but it is not entirely translucent. Hefty dose of floral, piney hops on the nose. It's got a great, refreshing finish that reminds me a lot of classic west coast IPAs. The taste is amazing! It is so dank and juicy. The hop presence is excellent. It balances so nicely with the subtle malt sweetness. The mouth is great as well. Perfect body, really. It leaves me licking my lips after each sip. Overall, this is the best beer I've had by Burial thus far. It is a great IPA.
