Notes: Collaboration with Other Half Brewing Co.

One of us dudes left our wallet and laptop in a juice bar in Brooklyn. So we made a beer about it. Double Dry-Hopped with a helping of Lupulin Powder. Smiling heals all pain. Do it more often.

A hazy, pale gold beer with a foamy off white head. Tons of lacing left behind by this sticky brew. The nose is huge on hops with grapefruit and pine mingling with some pineapple notes. The taste Is sweet and massively, but deliciously, bitter with tons of grapefruit, pineapple and mango. The finish is bitter and sweet in the perfect marriage. This is a superb beer. I hope it comes around again.

tall can, 12/30/16 on the bottom

pours heavily hazed lighter, yellowy amber, fluffy egg shell head, lasting and leaving a thicker film, and loads of low sheeting and sheets of fine and scattered lacing. Fine looking brew.

Pungent sniff loaded with delicious tropical delights

Super fresh tasting...tantalizing the senses with waves of more of the tropics balanced by a more resiny and drying hoppy finish.

Simply delicious...go get some

Appearance: Pours slightly hazy, with an amber verging on golden color; the head tops out at an inch but hangs around, leaving a smattering of dots and squiggles

Smell: Really juicy, with papaya, mango and pineapple dominant

Taste: Like the aroma, the tropical fruit dominates the fruit end; after the swallow, a Juicy Fruit gum flavor emerges that brings another fruity element that I cannot otherwise describe; the finish has fruity sweetness and hides the alcohol completely

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: I have foind collaborations to be hit or miss - this one is definitely a hit

Intensely hoppy but with a smooth and bitter finish, the brewers of Burial and Other Half team up for a taste that borrows the best from both the trendy New England style IPA and a West Coast imperial IPA.

I Left My Wallet in Bed-Stuy Juice Bar radiates the nose with high notes of tropical, citrus and exotic berry aromas even while the hazy golden ale settles in the glass and crowns with a sturdy white cap. Malty flavors of honey, angel food cake and light taffy carry a crisp pilsner-esque grainiess as the ale splashes the early palate.

The malt sweetness recedes swiftly and allows the middle palate to dominate with emboldened hop flavor. Tantalizing mandarin orange, pink grapefruit and lemon frame the citrusy contributions while mango, passionfruit, pineapple and papaya round out the softer and tangier tropical medley. Hints of gooseberry and lime peel steer deeper into a tangy hoppiness while the finish comes with an herbal sassafras, cedar, spruce and fresh grassiness to boot.

Medium bodied by seeming lighter because of the beer's clean dryness, the beer's full flavor brings the overall impression back to the middle. A light hop derived astringency gives the finish a pep of spice before a long linger of dried fruit peels and those herbal and woodsy perfumes.

Modestly fresh (about 5-6 weeks old), consumed on 1/26/17.

A: Poured from the 16 oz can into a Duvel tulip. Body is hazy golden-yellow, with plenty of particulate in suspension, with a half-finger white head.

S: Very nice nose of pungent tropical fruit, lemony citrus and orange peel.

T: First impression: juicy. Wow, this is some serious juice. Loads of tropical fruit (mango, papaya, touch of pineapple) and a decent amount of citrus (oranges, clementine oranges and grapefruit all noted). Finishes with a lingering juicy bitterness on the roof of the mouth that reminds me of grapefruit juice.

M: Pulpy - seriously, this beer feels like orange juice. Medium-to-full in body, with a modest carbonation.

O: First beer from these guys - who I'd never heard of prior to about 4 hours ago. Real good stuff.

A: Pours a hazy medium golden yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and moderate honey orange highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense foamy light beige head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of tropical/mango, tropical/passionfruit, citrus/grapefruit, and tropical/papaya hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of honey sweetness and biscuit + cereal grain malts.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of biscuit + cereal grain malts with moderate amounts of honey-like sweetness. That is followed by strong flavors of tropical/mango, tropical/passionfruit, citrus/grapefruit, and tropical/papaya hops with a light flavor of herbal hops. The hops are juicy/sweet but impart a light to moderate amount of bitterness which fades away pretty quickly.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light to moderate amounts of dryness in the finish.

O: Both Other Half and Burial are both making some really nice NE style IPAs and this collaboration does not disappoint. Really nice combination of sweetness, juiciness, hop flavors + aromas, and hints of bitterness. I really hope I get to sample another of these (or they bring back the collaboration in the future).

Pours a slightly hazy bright orange hue with good, single finger thick head. Good lacing. Smells of tropical fruit and orange juice. Taste is very dank hoppiness, piney and citrus all at once. Significantly bitter. I don't taste the chalkiness others have mentioned. This is definitely more Other Half than Burial. Fantastic beer.

While I'm from NC, visit the brewery often, and drink their beers as much as I can, I oddly enough happen to be in NYC for their market entry party at Haymaker. Great event with a good tap list, and of course this was on it (more Other Half than Burial though). SOLID double IPA!

Poured into a teku pint. Bottom of can says 12/30/16.

A- Pours a semi-hazy light orangeish amber color with a 1/2 inch off-white head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a full sheet of sheer surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves large clots behind.

S- Fruity aromas of mango, orange and papaya emanate from the glass. Juicy but with a touch of medicinal quality.

T- Big citrus flavor including notes of grapefruit, lemon and more orange. Moderate bitterness that doesn't linger long. Quite impressive how they made such a high-gravity beer with such little malt presence. It is quite dry, but the fruity flavor of the hops keeps it from being overly so. There is still that tinge of medicinal flavor detected in the aroma but it actually works well within the flavor profile. Don't know if that may be from the lupulin powder or what.

M- Bright and a bit sharp with medium carbonation and a lightish body.

O- I've never had a DIPA that's had such delicate balance between dry and sweet along with bitter and fruity. It's like they nailed everything right down the middle. Quite remarkable.
