Thanks goes out to MastaaaGrillaaa for this brew, from NBS BIF#6
16 oz. Can
Canned On: 08/14/17
Poured into a Squatters true pint glass a pretty nice dark brown color, with some pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy two-finger tan head, which leaves some pretty nice creamy sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, with some nice chocolate/toffee, vanilla, slight roast/nut, very slight spice. The taste is pretty nice, malty, with some nice chocolate/toffee notes, vanilla, some roastyness, nutty, some spice. Medium body, ABV hidden pretty well, with a nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, this one surprise me, very nice brew. Glad to have gotten a chance to try it.

16oz can poured into a snifter
A- pours dark brown in color with a one-finger foamy light khaki head that reduces to a ring
S- smells of chocolaty roasted malts, black licorice, blueberries, cracked pepper, char and allspice
T- chocolaty roast up front is followed by a dark fruit note of blueberry and fig. Mid-palate gives a malty sweetness that adds a light char and bitter chocolate note. The finish is roasty and bitter, with a linger of chocolate and dark fruit
M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that turns slightly creamy into the finish

Can with no date poured into a shaker pint! Coming out of the can got me nervous because it looked light in color and body! Little light comes through and the 1/2 inch heads stays around leaving some nice lacing behind. The smells is rich toasty malt, fresh baked bread, and cooking spice. Taste is roasts with coffee, chocolate, and that spice bush in the end (which I’ve never had until now). Feel is medium/light and somewhat dry but it is a porter so it’s expected. Overall I think it’s a well made collaboration brew that is perfect for springtime campfires!

Can shared by ygtbsm94. Thanks Brad.
The beer is dark brown with crimson highlights and a thin beige collar. Aromas of what must be spicebush (previously unfamiliar with this scent), brown bread, malt. Malty flavor with spice character nicely integrated. Medium bodied with lingering spice and brown bread notes.

Pours a very soda like dark brown, black. Head is lighter than I qould expect for a dark beer, didn't last long.
Smells of roasted malt, mild coffee, some chocolate.
Taste follows with roasted malt, coffee, a little spice hint too.
Medium feel, good carb level.
Overall a tasty beer.

A: Dark black beer with a small amount of khacki colored head. The head disapeared quick and left no lacing.
S: Smells of coffee and chocolate. Getting some spicey notes also. Guessing this comes from the spicebush.
T: Taste mimicks the smells. Nice mix of coffee and spices.
M: Taste is somewhat thin. Figured the beer would have a thicker mouthfeel. Taste is somewhat flat.
O: Beer has a good smell to it. Feel like the beer may have been a bit flat however. Not bad but nothing magical either.

Collaboration with Jackie O's. Canned on 8/14/17. 16oz can poured into a tulip. Pours almost black with a small khaki head that falls leaving nice retention and nice lacing. The aromas are malt forward with hints of cocoa, coffee and smoke. Hints of marshmallow as well. The flavors follow the nose for the most part. More cocoa, coffee, smoke and marshmallow with a solid malt backbone. Hints of anise/black licorice. I'm not too familiar with spicebush, but I feel I'm picking up some mild hints of it in the finish. It doesn't seem to be an adjunct that is dominating. Everything is balanced. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's fluffy, smooth and easy drinking stuff.
This is a solid Baltic porter. It comes off as traditional for the most part. The spicebush doesn't seem to shine, but it blends perfectly with everything else going on. Enjoyable stuff.
