Respect the day, honor the night. These journeys through mortality, the facing of immense questions of our finite ends. And yet there shall always remain one reaffirming truth. After the darkness comes the bright light. A take on crisp, herbaceous and uber-refreshing Italian-style Pilsner, spearheaded by brewer Ryan Riggs. A blend of pilsner malts create the base, while a collection of German hops provide the bright aromatics and floral flavor components. After a slow step-down crash, we dry-hopped with Hallertau Blanc, Huell Melon and Grungeist. The beer then lagers for many moons before delivering this burst of dry Verdicchio wine, strawberry soda, and citrus baked pastry.

A: Pours a very lightly hazy medium bright yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and a moderate amount of pale golden yellow + medium yellow + straw yellow colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy pillowy foamy bright white head that slowly reduces to a large patch of medium thick film covering approximately 75% of the surface of the beer surrounded by a large patch of thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of bready + biscuit + pale malts with very light amounts of grainy sweetness. Moderate aromas of floral + honeydew melon + white grape + strawberry hops as well as light to moderate aromas of lager yeast.

T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of bready + biscuit + pale malts with very light amounts of grainy sweetness. That is followed by light to moderate flavors of lager yeast. Finally there are moderate flavors of floral + honeydew melon + white grape + strawberry hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which fades away pretty quickly leaving a relatively clean finish.

M: Slightly heavier than light bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp with a slightly soft mid-body and a relatively clean finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and just enough crispness in the refreshing mouthfeel. Enjoyable - I could easily have a few of these and they would go easily with lots of different foods.

Look: It pours light golden with a white head. Head retention is very good.

Smell: It has dank qualities in the aroma with some earth and herbal characteristics.

Taste: It has some dankness in the flavor with citrus, herbal, and floral elements.

Feel: It has a medium light body with a touch of sweetness in the aftertaste.

Overall, interesting flavors and aromas make this beer a bit unique.
