16 oz cans purchased at brewery, last day of release! Poured into pint glass.
A: pours a dark ruby brown, slight off white one finger foam head that quickly fades to perimeter, fine bubble carbonation, some spotty lacing
S: dark brown sugar, sweet molasses, fresh brewed coffee, dark malt
M: medium body with semi dry finish
T: slight up front watery taste, fresh roasted coffee, dark brown molasses, minor taste of yeast that is like a doughnut (maybe I'm over reaching), dark malt, vanilla, sweetened condensed milk, oatmeal
O: I'm impressed with this brew and glad I was in the right place at the right time, flavors are done very well.

16 oz. can date stamped 1/11/24
Reviewing on a cold rainy morning, so probably optimal setting.
Deep black color, one finger brown varied head. Full lacing curtains and surface cap.
First aroma is the pastry and vanilla. Followed by coffee, cocoa, light Roasty malt.
Coffee and light hop zest come in with first swallow. Cocoa, molasses, light stone fruit, donut sweetness develops.
Full coating mouthfeel. Oat smoothness. Good carbonation, no alcohol heat.
Superior breakfast stout.

From a 16oz can, dated 12/13/23. Served in the preternaturally fragile spiegelau BA tasting glass.
Pours essentially black with the merest hint of mahogany at the margins and a finger-plus of sudsy mocha head. Retention is unremarkable but leaves a reasonably sturdy sheet of lacing.
Nose is cakey and roasty - probably power of suggestion but it’s the aroma of donut shop coffee and a plain donut.
Taste is smooth, mellow, creamy, cakey with a gentle bite of bitter coffee. Sweeter further in, hot cocoa powder, malted milk balls and kids’ breakfast cereal.
Feel is silky smooth, medium bodied with ample fine, tingly carbonation. No sense of the 8% abv on the palate or in the gullet.
Overall, excellent! I’m a slut for a good oatmeal stout and this one does everything an oatmeal stout is supposed to. Not too sweet, not too bitter; not too syrupy, not too dry. No sharp edges and no hard corners. A genuine treat.

A Tavour Treat. Pours a dark brown color with a foamy tan head that lasts quite a while. Aroma is black coffee and roasted malts. Taste is chocolate and caramel. Starts sweet and finishes with minimum bitterness.

Pours jet black. Aroma isn't as strong as expected. Yes, there some coffee but it's not particularly strong. Taste is much more intense & complex -- chocolate, coffee, bitter sweetness, roastiness & hints of vanilla. Mouthfeel way too thin for me. Decent oatmeal stout.
