Not often you see a Baltic porter, so I picked it up when I saw it.

Poured from a can into a tulip glass. Very dark brown color with almost no head or lacing. Dark chocolate smell and taste. Some dark fruit. Sort of light but very good tasting.

16 ounce can into snifter, canned on 1/10/2019. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crusts; with lighter notes of toffee, smoke, charcoal, anise, dark fruits, leather, tobacco, pepper, pine, and herbal/grassy earthiness. A bit too fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crusts; with lighter notes of toffee, smoke, charcoal, anise, dark fruits, leather, tobacco, pepper, pine, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, herbal, grassy, peppery hop; and roast/charcoal bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark/brown bread/crusts, toffee, smoke, charcoal, anise, dark fruits, leather, tobacco, pepper, pine, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great hop/char bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Very clean on lager flavors, not overly fruity/yeasty. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 8.5%. Overall this is a very nice Baltic Porter. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the ABV, with the mellowly bitter/charred/drying finish. Very clean, rich, and well rounded malt complexity, balancing earthy hops, and mild fruity yeast character. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This nice little porter pours a muddy
blackish brown with a very nice thick khaki colored foam that subsides
to a thick ring, thin layer, and shows nice sudsy lacing. Nose shows
notes of dark chocolate, mild coffee, and nicely dark roasted nutty malts.
Flavors show notes of medium dark coffee, dark sweet chocolate, and some
nutty roasted malt notes with a mild herbal hop note on the back. Very nice
mouthfeel; medium full body, light carbonation, and a nice sweet roasted
finish.

Overall a solid brew from a solid brewery.

Cheers

Bottled on 1/18/17. 12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours almost black with a small khaki head that fades leaving solid bubbly retention and okay lacing. The aromas are full of roasted and cocoa malts. Some smoke in the mix. Hints of vanilla as well. The flavors are bold and slightly on the sweeter side, but the sweetness works. The vanilla from the oak spirals come through. Nice roasted characteristics. Mild hints of coffee. More hints of cocoa and smoke. Some tobacco in the mix. Solid malt backbone. Finishes clean. Alcohol basically goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is nice. It's on the lighter side of full-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's very fluffy, smooth and easy to drink.

This is a nice Baltic porter. The craftsmanship is on point. Well done.

Came a deep chestnut brown with a half finger light beige head atop.Chocolate and coffee roast aromas with light sweet caramel in there as well.Coffee and caramel on the palate, some unsweetened chocolate and earthiness round out the the flavor profile. No frills for a Baltic Porter but damn it's tasty, the alcohol never intrudes leaving a pretty clean finish.Well done.

Pours a dark brown with some highlights when held to the light, head is fizzy tan that fads quicker then any i have ever seen no lace.

Aroma is coffee, liquid smoke, toffee hints of anise and dark fruits with a good earthy undertone.

Taste is like the nose dark malts, good smoke notes earthy peat and dark fruits. Some toffee sweetness and hints of licorice with good earthy notes and a descent hop bite. Flavors are good but not very Baltic like per say.

Mouthfeel is only medium carbonation makes it feel even lighter. Not like other Baltic Porters I have had seems to light not more stout like like most Baltic Porters.

Overall a descent porter but just doesn't seem like a big beer. Great flavors but seems too light, not big and chewy as it should be.

Dull and dark brown pour, small short lived light tan head. Faded quickly but left a
Tiny tan line of bubbles around the outside of the glass.
Smell is some coffee, smoke.
Good flavor. Dark fruits, wood, coffee and molasses.
Full mouthfeel, smooth and easy drinking.

12 oz bottle served in a Belgian snifter.

Pours very dark reddish-brown; nearly opaque in the glass. The weak head quickly reduces to a ring but leaves some lacing nonetheless.

Aroma: pleasing; mild with a touch of smoke.

Flavor: lightly sweet; relatively sweet for style. Some dark fruits with dark bread, toffee. oak, coffee and chocolate.

Feel: medium-bodied with near medium carbonation.

Overall: a solid, smooth and lightly woody version of the style.

A thin, brief-lived pebbly tan head sits atop a dark brown body with ruby highlights; lacing is fair, consisting of slabs and caverns. The nose is light in intensity, but attention-getting: a seamless, punchy blend of bitter coffee, oak and booze backed by hints of smoke and black-strap molasses. The palate shows a sweeter and much richer dark malt character than the nose would predict; it's a smooth, seamless melange that includes milk chocolate, cocoa, toffee and molasses, and ends up just slightly on the sweet side of the balance. Like the aroma, there is just a hint of smoke. The finish is toffee/caramel, with a bit of carbonation bite, and ends dryish; the linger is a subtle coffee/oak bitterness that sticks around for a minute or two. Mouthfeel is on point for the full body, and the texture is stoutish: viscous, sticky, creamy, and just faintly peppery from the restrained carbonation. (12 oz bottle, no code date)
