Very tasty beer. Cool 16 oz can. Not super fresh but great value picked up a 6 pack of 16 oz cans for $10 near Charlotte NC. Great citrus smell. Taste is mix of pine and citrus with malty bitter finish. Enjoying these on a spring night. Starts with a bright citrus taste but finishes dry.

One of my go to local IPA's, in the pint can six pack.
Looks lightly hazy deep gold-orangey, super creamy 3-4 finger head in Hi Wire ipa glass.
Smells slightly juicy, velvety malt undertone, and very good!
Taste follows nose; light caramel malts under the citrus/ piney hoppy top end, and a good finishing quality; lightly bitter and satisfying overall flavors. This can is over 90 days, and I can tell.....I've had fresher cans that had more oomph. still good though.

16 oz turquoise can, dated 2/17/21, into Urban South Willie.

Deep peachy gold with a butter head of 2 fingers, leaving lots of lace as it recedes.

Aroma from the can brings the perfumy pine of regular Hi-Pitch, and the aroma from the glass brings sweet honey caramel malt and some strawberries and tangerines.

Flavor is strawberries, papaya, and tangerine; big presence of honey malt; then pine, orange tic-tac, and grass. Builds bitterly on the palate in the way only a C hop with a long boil could do...and the more it is sipped it turns to perfume on the tongue.

Feel is crisp and semi-juicy; wet, heavily resinous, some moderate alcohol heat, with a dry resinous finish.

Overall, it's nothing I'll return to, but it will satisfy the pine-heads. The Mosaic hop softened the beer a little bit, but it's still Hi-Pitch at its core - so if you're a fan of that beer (I'm not), you'll enjoy this one. Centennial far overshadows the Mosaic here.

Pours a slightly hazy burnt orange with a dense off-white head. Great look in my glass. The nose is citrus, primarily tangerine and some grapefruit, and there’s a touch of caramalt sweetness.

The tangerine flavor is the most notable on the taste, and it really comes forward as this warms a bit. The caramalt flavor is subtle and a nice counterpoint to the citrus flavors. The mouthfeel is fairly dry, maybe just a smidge watery.

This is my first beer from these guys, and I’m really enjoying it - a great “fridge IPA,” IMHO.

Can dated 5/13:
Pours nicely from the can, with a little haze expected as I watch a solid head build. Lacing is fairly prevalent initially, with thin, compact lines forming a webs on the glass wall. Counter this nice-looking top is a lightly hazed, particle-carrying body. The light brass body with a little have wouldn't be bad, but the visible particulate is a detraction.

Smell is peach, overripe melon, grapefruit juice and rind, and a little honey. There's a little raw hop note that has me wondering if there'll be some hop burn in the taste.

There's a toast and honey-like malt opening to this beer. A little indistinct citrus-like tang is present in my first sips, but it fades a bit by beer end. Even then, there is a citrus tea like not before the hops join the malt flavors. Grapefruit bitterness is the main flavor, with a light herbal note washing aside it in the end.

A fairly balanced, bitter leaning IPA with a decent malt profile. It comes as a bit of of a cross of an ESB and a WC pale ale to me, with a splash of weak juice to throw it out just of line for both.

12oz can poured into a tulip

A- pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with a one-finger creamy white head that has great retention and leaves some lacing behind

S- dank hops on the nose with notes of weed and some herbaceous mosaic notes, undertones of citrus and melon

T- tropical hops up front with notes of mango, guava and citrus peels, the finish gives a hint of bready malt with more tropical hop notes

M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that continues into a crisp finish

O- some dank notes coming through to compliment the tropical mosaic notes, good drinkability

Pours a hazy golden with orange tinted center nice thick creamy cream colored head that falls slow and laces very well. Nice looking brew.

Aroma is nice tropical fruits orange, tangerine, mango and melon on bready malt base lightly showing through the fruitiness.

Taste is fruity and big grapefruit rind bitterness kick right from the start moving to more mellow fruits and bready malt base adding some sweetness. Lingering bitterness citrus and some grassy notes. Overall an enjoyable drinkable IPA not over the top bitterness but enough to be good.

Mouthfeel is nice medium but feels like it has more body to it somehow, nice medium level of carbonation.

Overall an enjoyable brew but I am a little partial to Hi-Wire.

12 FL OZ can
Served in an IPA glass

This beer pours amber and cloudy with suspended yeast visible. It is topped with several inches of tan head that leaves nice lacing.

It smells of malt and long past its prime hops.

The taste is of cereal grains with a little sweetness and floral flavors.

Medium bodied with a chalky mouthfeel.

10W 40 was good. This is absolute crap. The last IPA I had from them was not good. I will not be wasting anymore money on Hi-Wire Brewing.

beautiful rich golden yellow. Thin head, although i think washing with the well water hear affects retention, off white.
Smell hits mild melon notes and slightly turned peach/nectarine.
Taste starts sharply bitter, citrus pith. Sweeter fruit notes are just a hint in the background. As the beer breathes a bit the pith recedes to make room for a light crakeriness and increased stone fruit sweetness. Still pretty bitter and crisp, impressions of red grapefruit.
Mouthfeel is solid, a little light for the style but it plays well with the high carbonation and sharp bitterness.
Overall very pleasant bitter ipa. Nice and crisp. Would drink again for sure

Pours an effervescent gold with a finger of cream colored head. Stellar head retention, Nice lacing

S: Some citrus, a little grassyness & perfumy hops

T: Follows the, breadyness, a little mango, pineappple & dryness up front. Floral hops, grassyness, light bready notes & orange notes, plus dryness as this warms, a little grapefruit as well. Finishes citrussy, grassy, dry with a little green melon, almost midori notes & a kiss of resiny pine

MF: Medium body understated carbonation, good balance

Drinks super-easy, a nice take on the style

12oz bottle - despite its prolific brewing scene, I don't know if I've ever had something from North Carolina before.

This beer pours a slightly hazy, medium apricot yellow colour, with four fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat silken off-white head, which leaves some thick, streaky lace around the glass as it very slowly sinks out of sight.

It smells of orange, red grapefruit, and lemon citrus rind, bready and doughy caramel malt, some hard water flintiness, and more leafy, weedy, and dank piney hop bitters. The taste is gritty and grainy caramel malt, some mixed domestic citrus peel, a further indistinct tropical fruitiness, some damp minerality, and more leafy, herbal, and resinous piney hoppiness.

The carbonation is fairly benign in its milquetoast frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and generally smooth, with maybe just a soupcon of hop acridity making a few ripples at this particular juncture. It finishes off-dry, the muddled fruity essences showing the most lingering sass.

Overall - this comes across as a rather well-rendered version of the style, nice and hoppy, yet balanced. Easy enough to put back, especially with the extra 1.7 points of the ol' wowee sauce so expertly integrated. Worth checking out.

this is a great ipa and a killer expression of mosaic. i wasnt even sure it was all mosaic when i was having it because the nose and taste show such a robust and unique side of the hop, different than what i am sure most of us are used to from it. are there multiple hi-pitch ipas that these guys do? there are a few listings here, but the one i had was assuredly mosaic. its got a nice golden glow and a lasting white head from the tap, lots of visible carbonation and an aroma of fresh meyer lemon, sweet pineapple chunks, and candied orange zest, there is a definite oily sweet and rich character from the hops, west coasty even, and with such a radiant freshness its incredible. the flavor is as good as the nose, i thought at first there had to be something southern hemisphere in here too, as i get honeydew and kiwi and white wine, but im pretty sure its all mosaic! crystalline and concentrated, clean and fresh, insanely fruity, and balanced just enough by the malt. great carbonation, enormously high drinkability, mild bitterness at the end. beautiful ipa, nicely dry hopped with mosaic, this really shows this hop in its best form! awesome stuff.

Poured from the bottle into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Clear bodied, a mix of orange amber, and dark bronze body color. Creamy filling head, a big controlled easy fistfull, fine bubbles and with lots of staying power. Island puck retention and clumpy lacing abounds. Great looking IPA.

Aroma seems a touch malt forward, but goes for a bit of spice like pine, and some definite caramel sweetness. A little touch of juicy fruit orange seems to kick in with a bit o herbal spice also. Pretty solid.

Palate seems just simple but good. Juicy body, actually nearly getting into some thick rich malt depth and support, but stays simple. Moderate astringency in the mid palate, contiuning a pine like wood and orange citrus bent. Finishes nice and herbal hot, almost bitter menthol on the aftertaste.

Solid simple good tasting IPA.

With the hop that can do no wrong, the brewers at Hi-Wire finish their Centennial IPA with Mosaic hops for a radiant, earthy and fruity portrayal of their North Carolina take on what hoppy beer should be.

Light copper and medium amber hues radiate from a nearly bright body. A light ivory froth crowns the ale while those Mosaic hops shed their character of currant, tropical fruit and geranium. Flavors begin with a mild caramel underpinning with suggestions of honey and granola pulling the malty upstart together.

But the hops turn from floral to fruity as a taste of dark berries charge across the middle palate. Passionfruit, gooseberry and kiwi come with a white grapefruit and lemon citrus component while the malt sweetness falls out from below. Herbal notes of verbena, sassafras and tea trend botanical, dank and slightly catty- in true Mosaic fashion. But the bitterness is a clean crisp and gently muddled grapefruit and pine needle brightness.

Medium-light on the finish, the beer dries beautifully and allows the session to become drinkable and highly quaffable. Refreshing to its core, the early creaminess finishes with a peppery bite and a blend of herbs that extend moderately deep on the after palate having the imbiber asking for another in rapid succession.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 3/1/2017. Pours moderate hazy/cloudy golden orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, berry, lemon/orange zest, light pepper/pine, light caramel, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, berry, lemon/orange zest, light pepper/pine, light caramel, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, zesty, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, berry, lemon/orange zest, light pepper/pine, light caramel, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6.7%. Overall this is a very nice IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Kind of East coast feeling with the milder bitterness. This has nice juicy Mosaic/Centennial hop character; with a nice bready malt backbone. Never overly sweet/heavy feeling. A very enjoyable offering.

My old neighbor was kind enough to provide two bottles of this fine elixir from his recent trip to OBX! It poured a hazy orangish with thin white head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had hints of tangerine and fresh tang. The taste carried tropical fruit notes. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall this is a solid beer.
