I had this beer at Original Gravity in San Jose and again at the Better Beer Garden during the SubZero festival. At Original Gravity it was $6 for a 16 oz pint. As the beer was set on the coaster, the first thing I noticed is the beautiful copper color, thin wispy head, and large CO2 bubbles racing up the sides of the glass. The nose is a little reserved, although there is a hint of danky hops. Upon the first sip, the palate is flooded with wonderful hop flavor, almost a little unexpected because the nose did not hint at all this hop flavor. Pleasant bitterness to balance the hop flavor with enough of a malt backbone to provide structure. This could easily be a 4.75 or 5.0 beer if it was dry hopped, but it is still worth trying if you find it on tap somewhere.

22 oz bottle in a pint glass. This beer pours a light orange clear body and has nice lacing. The smell is fruity - grapefruit and mango. The taste is mostly pine and doesn't quite deliver on the smell. The finish is clean without a lot of lingering bitterness. Overall I think this is a solid west coast IPA and a sign of good things from Santa Clara Valley.

The brew poured a light amber color, with 2 fingers of a bright white head that left excellent lacing. The aroma is pungent and consists of pine, mango, pineapple and citrus. The flavor follows the nose with only the slightest trace of a malt backbone. The beer is well carbonated and has a light-medium mouthfeel that finishes bone dry.
