One of the better Amican IPAs made in Europe that I have tasted. That doesnt say much at all unfortunately. Light malt/caramel but still there, could be even more focused on hops with less crystal. Gives some sweetness and competes with aromatic hips, but this bottle is just over two months (? BB 7.21.16?), so may just be fading a bit.

Balanced beer. The bitterness is a bit strange, medicinal. So I'll say bitter orange, and an effervescent drug mouthfeel. The hops are alright but the malts could be more present

Aroma is really fresh, fruity and piney. Taste starts with sweet citrus fruits but finishes with bitter resinous, flavors. Medium to light body with crisp carbonation. Really fresh, hoppy and easy to drink.

It seems fair to say that those who claim the French can't make good beers (except for 3 Monts, Pelforth brune and Mont des cats) are wrong. A fairly good American style IPA, les brasseurs du grand Paris is a brewery that deserve more recognition. Sadly, I don't think you find this in America. Santé !

Picked up in Paris over the summer, bottled 6/12/18, best before 03/2019

Pours with a large head, lots of extra carbonation probably thanks to bottle conditioning, fluffy creamy head with decent retention, nice lacing, hazy honey orange color

Nose brings bright citrus, orange zest, lemon lemongrass, big grapefruit and tropical guava mango like, pink grapefruit juice, a little doughy malt

Taste brings typical pale ale flavors, lots of blond toasted malts, a little sweetness, nice malty flavor to balance the quickly intensifying bitterness, ramps up to a nice strong bitterness overall, hops bring a little citrus, more grapefruit, some pith, rind, a bit spicy later, finish dries a bit and long bitterness lingering

Mouth is med bod, nice fizzy carb

Overall not bad, def old school American IPA with nice malt profile, good bitterness, nice balance as well, hops came out great on the nose but dropped a bit on the taste but probably would have been stronger if I had it in the summer.

Tried on-tap at Le Supercoin in Paris.

Pours a hazed amber orange with a little brightness to it. Head is a faint film of pocked white that stays around as a ring around the glass. Minimal lace and very light body. It looks okay, but nothing exceptional yet.

This all changes when I take a whiff. The nose is great. Big, fresh and fruity, giving characters of melon and lemon, with some slight herbal greenness. There's also a faint almond-like sweetness from the malt and something perhaps slightly estery from the yeast. It's interesting: it has the stamp of Europe on it even though it's very much brewed in the US style.

Taste is similar. There's a clean press of malt through the centre of the palate, more almond-meal nuttiness, or perhaps even a suggestion of peanut butter. But the hops balance it nicely without providing much true bitterness. It's more of a fruitiness. Big melon characters on the back make the beer very refreshing, while some lemon peel in the finish cleans it up. Lovely stuff.

Feel is quite thin, but full enough: it doesn't have breadth, but it has enough body to support the flavours.

Overall, this was very tasty and very drinkable. There's stacks of flavour in it, and the characters are all balanced together very well. I like that it doesn't just mimic an American IPA—it's doing something of its own character as well.

Beer bottle (33cl.) lot 104758 bb 4/15.
Look : amber color, with medium foamy head.
Smell : nice aromas of citrus an tropical fruits.
Taste & mouthfeel : good malty flavor with nice lemony character, leading to a long bitterness finish.

Bought at la Cave à Bulles. This is the third IPA from these guys that I am trying and I like how the Citra hop works here. Nice fruity nose and plesant mouthfeel. More on the lighter side of IPA if we take the American standard. When I asked for a more hopped up brew from this brewery and was directed towards Nice to Meet You.
