Notes / Commercial Description:
Pull the pin, count to four, and get ready to feel an explosion of sweet raspberry and spicy habanero flavor. No need to worry about collateral damage or capsaicin shrapnel since this red ale has just enough malt body to strike a balance between fruity, sweet, and spicy. Making it the jam to your jelly, baby.

As a big hot peppers fan, this is a very nice beer, it's smooth with a nice taste of raspberry and that lovely habanero kick, I can't get enough of this one, my favorite thing about FB is that you can always get the flavors they promised in their beer.

On tap at the Funky Buddha Brewery.
Red-amber body. Excellent clarity; weak head; no lacing

Sweet and hot: probably excellent choice to accompany under-spiced meats and some other foods. Sweet and hot work well together. I kept expecting to tire of this but didn't.
Natural raspberry flavor similar to jam. Moderate heat but limited pepper flavor.

This is pretty good actually. It does sting a bit.

22 oz bottle
Smell: Intense raspberry, vinous with dark fruits. there’s plenty spicy heat. all this overwhelms anything that might be present derived from malt or hops. there’s even some cheesy thing going on that is very unpleasant.
Look: pours amber/brown with a nice full 1/2" tan head with moderate retention. the beer is hazy / opaque. there was zero lacing observed.
Taste: mostly caramelly sweet malts overwhelmed by semi stale raspberry flavor and bold vegetally habanero heat. there is some bitterness but the balance is way off.
Feel: this beer is medium/full beer, with rich oily texture, moderate carbonation and strong astringency bordering on harsh. It finishes sweet with long spicy heat from habanero lingering for a while.
Overall: This beer is all over the place and just undrinkable. Might have worked better as a funky tart fruit ale. But the base beer is not a balanced malty red ale. A failed experiment for experimentation’s sake. - Let it be known that I love raspberries and anything to do with hot peppers...
