Poured from a 22 oz bomber, into a Funky Buddha snifter.

Thick, creamy, khaki colored,1 1/2 finger head with beautiful retention and lacing.Jet black in color, with no light coming through the glass.

On the nose I get huge orange and bourbon notes, backed up by some chocolate, roasted coffee, and dark malts. It definitely has an orange creme liquor scent going on.

The palate follows the nose...Tons of orange creme, bourbon, and chocolate, backed by some dark coffee, and roasted malts.Strong flavors of orange creme liquor...but those flavors start to blend much better with the chocolate and others as the beer warms.

The mouth feel is medium / heavy, with some alcohol warming effects.

This is a solid imperial porter. Not something I could drink every day,but a very good beer nonetheless.

Drank from a 22 fl.oz bottle acquired in a trade with Steban
Served in a snifter

Impressive appearance. The medium bodied, dark brown body was topped by an inch-tall, super tight and creamy, mocha colored crown. Fantastic retention. The head slowly dropped to a thick, bubbly collar. A wall of spotty lacing coated the glass after every sip.

The nose was outstanding. The orange and chocolate notes came through big time but did not become too dominant or sickly sweet. A chocolate orange candy definitely came to mind. Some Grand Marnier too. Vanilla was noticeable. Perhaps a touch orange creamsicle-like as well. Bit of roastiness. Touch of bourbon heat in the background.

The flavor profile was nearly as impressive. Orange notes hit hard right off the bat. Grand Marnier again came to mind. Some semisweet chocolate as well. Bit of roasty malt in the center and on the back end. The roast provided a nice balance to the sweetness up front. Touch of booziness on the finish. For an 11% ABV beer, however, this drank incredibly well.

The mouthfeel was terrific. Medium bodied for the style. Perhaps a touch thin however. Slick and silky smooth. The liquid contained a fine, moderate effervescence that turned super creamy and fluffy on the palate.

Many novelty/dessert beers are often cloyingly sweet and enjoyable only in small amounts, but Funky Buddha's Barrel Aged Imperial Chocwork Orange was incredibly flavorful yet also remarkably well balanced. No other brewery pulls off the wacky flavored beers like these guys do.

Big thanks to rudzud

Huge foamy creamy thigh mocha head hits 2 fingers and fades slowly with thick soapy lacing, pitch black thick beer long legs.

Nose is basically a chocolate orange, juicy orange candy, fresh orange juice notes, nice milk chocolate little dark cocoa, mild bourbon wash, little vanilla and milk stout creamy choc malt, wish the bourbon and barrel was more.

Taste brings big chocolate orange again, fresh orange rind with orange candy, the candy sugar orange marmalade candy, mild milk chocolate, little creamy cocoa, tangy orange, faint bourbon and vanilla barrel notes, milky porter dark malt touch toasted malt.

Mouth is creamy lush velour awesome, good carb, no booze.

Overall a very awesome beer, amazing chocolate orange and base milk stout, just lacking the bourbon to be perfect.

Bottle shared by starrdogg. Dark brown body with a thin beige collar. The aroma is totally those baseball shaped chocolate oranges that you have to violently strike with a hammer to break them into slices. You know what I'm talkin' 'bout. Absolutely delicious flavor and everything the label promised. The body is thinner than expected, though drinkability is abnormally high for an 11% abv desert beer. Superb.

22 fl oz bottle sealed with fucky buddha pressure cap.

poured into HF wine stem.

Appearance: black body large dense head.

Smell: Tons of chocolate. Tons of oranges. Big bourbon.

Taste: Rich milk chocolate. Sweet oranges. Nice bourbon finish that sweetens the oranges even more.

Mouthfeel: medium body beer with low yet adequate carbonation. Slightly boozy, but not much sting. I think it has to do with how rich the beer is.

Overall: This is fantastic. I think that I like the Hill Farmstead BA Daybreak a little bit more than this one. BA Daybreak has more integrated flavors with better mouthfeel and Chocwork orange is richer and sweeter. Really nice beer regardless.

22oz bottle poured into a snifter
Bottled 6/3/16

A- pours a pitch black color with a small creamy off-white head that reduces to leave some lacing behind

S- aroma is reminiscent of an orange-nougat-filled Russel Stover chocolate. Plenty of zesty orange & chocolate, subtle undertones of bourbon and some barrel notes, hints of caramel & coffee

T- orange comes through unlike any orange flavored beer I've had. Sharp orange zest pokes through, followed by undertones of milk chocolate and hints of bourbon barrel & melted caramel. The finish gives more orange with milky sweet chocolate and just a trace of bourbon

M- medium-heavy body with medium carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that turns into a creamy finish

O- another outstanding stout from FB, these guys are masters of adjunct stouts

Poured into a Duvel tulip. Bottleneck says Bottled On 06/03/16.

A- Pours a fully opaque black color with a 1/2 inch dark tan head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a mostly full sheet of surface foam. Resilient lacing leaves large clots behind.

S- Massive orange aroma with a milk chocolate backing and some booze.

T- The orange is the dominant flavor here and it is the exact same kind of orange you encounter when biting into a chocolate orange. My issue is that the chocolate is mainly present in the aftertaste and the orange drowns out everything else, including the barrel. Instead of getting a lot of barrel character, I mainly get alcohol heat. Still, very drinkable for the ABV and the orange flavor is pleasant. Especially as it warms, the roastiness of the malt starts to complement all the other flavors and becomes dangerously smooth.

M- Creamy and thick with medium carbonation and a full body.

O- Good concept, decent execution. I wish the orange was toned down just a tad to let the other elements come through more but I know it's a difficult ingredient to work with. Very smooth but, since it is so one-dimensional, it's a bit of a chore to take down the whole bottle.

Just don't know how a porter can be any more decadent and well made than this. I've had a lot of high scoring FB and this one truly tops them all so far. Light brown foamy head loaded with chocolate, orange, and bourbon bouquet. The bourbon, chocolate, and orange all are unmistakably present in the nose and palate, however increadibly well integrated and balanced. A highly orchestrated symphony of deliciousness. Mouthfeel was as or more thick and lingering than any porter I've had before, and even compared to many good stouts. Met or exceeded all expectations. Highly recommend!!

Bomber poured into a large Funky Buddha snifter.

L- black with a brown tinge. Thin dark khaki head. Not a whole lot of head retention, but a thin strip remains around the edge of the glass

S- incredible. Smells like the you would think. Orange, chocolate, with bourbon bringing up the rear. Maybe a little vanilla. It smells perfect.

T- chocolate and the sweetness from the lactose up front. Hints of vanilla. Nice bitterness to balance out all the sweetness. Finishes with bourbon. The orange stays on the breath.

F- full bodied. Nice carbonation. Thick.

O- I'm admittedly a Funky Buddha whore. But this beer is one of their best. The regular version of this beer is good. This barrel aged version is a home run. This wasn't a cheap bottle, but in regretting not buying more. The wife loves it, too

Wow. Literally like liquefied chocolate covered oranges, the nose on this is amazing bourbon and orange. Taste fully follows the nose with creamy chocolate orange flavor. Funky Buddha nailed the flavor profile yet again.
