22oz bottle poured into a snifter
2016 Bottle

A- bottle gushed upon opening, 1/3 of the beer went to the floor. Pours deep brown with a one-finger big bubble foamy head that reduces to a ring around the edge

S- smells of nutty brown malts, brown bread, cinnamon, baked apples, brown sugar and overripe apples, light bourbon barrel. There's also a musky perfume note at the end

T- brown bread, Christmas cake, baked cinnamon apples, brown sugar crust. The finish gives light bourbon barrel, as well as vanilla & caramel apple. Just a hint of tartness sticks around

M- medium body with high carbonation leads to a super foamy mouthfeel that fills the mouth and continues into the finish

O- notes of baked cinnamon apples mix well with the light bourbon barrel

Looks: Your typical brown ale with a slight red hue to it.

Smell: out of this world of apples and cinnamon with the plus of bourbon tying it together.

Taste: very similar to the smell!! bourbon to start with a apple and cinnamon finish. Very sweet but the apple helps calm it down!

Feel: a little thicker than an average brown ale due to the barrel.

very sweet so better to spread this one out amongst friends!!

Look is brown. Honestly, what else would you expect from a... brown ale... There's maybe a slightly reddish tinge to it, but it's brown.

The nose is, like so many other FB brews, absurdly interesting. Bourbon whiskey and sweet apples.

Complex sweet taste. Initial bourbon from the barrel is quickly integrated with apple pie spice, cinnamon, and a lot of sugar.

Mouth feel is average. It's thin like most every other brown. The tastes linger longer than expected.

Overall, this is a share beer. We all enjoyed it, but none of felt that we could drink a whole pint, and I can't imagine the sweet tooth it would take to down a bomber all alone.

Poured into a Wicked Weed snifter. No freshness date.

A- Pours a mostly opaque black color with a 1/2 inch tan head that retains decently before becoming a thin ring around the edge of the glass and some faint wisps of surface foam. Resilient lacing leaves a solid ring behind.

S- Intense potpourri-like spices and a big waft of booze. Reminds me of some herbal liqueur I've had in the past but I can't place it.

T- Whatever doubts I had about the aroma are immediately dismissed once I taste it. Lots of cinnamon and the apples come through surprisingly well while both being tied together by a nice bourbon complexity. Oaky aftertaste. I'm not detecting a whole lot of vanilla which is fine since it's plenty sweet from the other ingredients. The booziness is a bit intense but sipping slow is the easy solution.

M- Slick but with a sharpness from the cinnamon. Medium carbonation and a fullish body.

O- Quite a unique beer and something I wasn't fully prepared for going into it, but frankly I don't think anything could've prepared me for the intense flavor profile it offers. I probably won't seek this out again since I don't particularly go for this kind of thing, but it's very good for what it is and I'm glad I got to try it

F.B.B does it again.

Look - Dark brown with a good head.
Smell- This beer hits you with Big Bourbon and Sweet Sweet Brown sugar. The apple pie spices are very subtle.
Taste. - Candy Apple Bourbon!!! This doesn't taste like a beer at all. More like a good flavored liquor. Very sweet, apple pie spices, vanilla.
Feel- Very smooth with a nice warming at the back of the mouth.

This would be great on a nice cold winter night. I'd only wish they would make more!!!!

Very dark purplish brown ale. Decent head size and retention.

Lots of bourbon on the nose; very distinct and slightly tart. Oak and caramel overwhelm the remaining aromas.

Flavor follows, but with the base beer really showing through. The combination of the apple, cinnamon, and vanilla blended with the bourbon and oak makes this almost indistinguishable from an apple brandy barrel aged brew.

Exceptionally smooth and drinkable, with heat on the backend.
