Light golden, slightly hazy, almost no head; Mild aroma (I asked my spouse, a non-drinker, if she could smell pineapple. She said maybe she could.) It does feel a little tangy. The flavor is quite mild, slightly sweet. I never would guess it has pineapple.

Bottle #2: Flavorful. Good on a hot afternoon, right out of the bottle.

Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 1/24/2018. Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of juicy pineapples, lemon, orange, grapefruit, citrus zest, peach, pear, melon, light pine, cracker, white bread dough, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of pineapple, citrus hops, fruity yeast, and moderate pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of juicy pineapples, lemon, orange, grapefruit, citrus zest, peach, pear, melon, light pine, cracker, white bread dough, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very mild pine, zesty, floral, grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes pineapples, lemon, orange, grapefruit, citrus zest, peach, pear, melon, light pine, cracker, white bread dough, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of pineapple, citrus hops, fruity yeast, and moderate pale malt flavors; with a solid malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, fairly crisp, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a very nice fruited American blonde ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of pineapple, citrus hops, fruity yeast, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Very well balanced between clean pils malts, pineapple, citrus hops, and fruity yeast. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

20 oz. on draft in a nonic at Tampa airport.

Appearance: Clear gold with a finger-width white head.

Aroma: Pineapple, malt, grain, honey.

Taste: Pineapple leads, along with some toast and caramel. Some hop. Somewhat lager-like.

Mouthfeel: Very drinkable. Some bitter finish.

Overall: Decent, unspectacular fruit beer. Not bad on a summer day.

Hazy golden color with a nice hue up the sides. The white frothy head sticks around for awhile and gradually recedes to a thin ring.

Getting mostly bready malts on the nose with hints of grapefruit-y hop, and some sliced pineapple in the background.

Flavor has a sharp bitterness to start, kind of dare I say hop forward, and I can detect what seems like Pilsner malt in the grain bill - it's very clean; hints of pineapple and grapefruit dart in and out.

Feel is crisp and clean, slight rind and resin on the finish.

Overall I was expecting a sweet bomb but that's not what happened here. It's balanced, though possibly moreso on the bitter side of things. The problem is, this beer is way too easy to put away. I'm almost done already.

I love Funky Buddha, so this review hurts me a bit. I’ve enjoyed this beer from the bottle, but I previously could only find it when traveling home to FL. When distribution expanded and I found it further north (in a can), I decided to try.

Pours with minimal head, quasi cloudy. Kinda looks like a Belgian wheat. No lacing. Just runs off the glass. Not a super pretty beer.

Faint smell a little like canned pineapple juice with a bit of funk. No complexity, no fun.

Tastes like a bitter white ale with a hint of pineapple. Don’t know if it’s overly acidic, but one beer and my tongue is irritated.

Good carbonation. Beer feels a little sticky.

Overall an underwhelming beer. Maybe I got a bad pack or it was poorly stored before purchase. I recall the bottled six pack I had a year ago as a solid summer beer. In hopes that my experience is a fluke, I’ll try it again next time in FL. Disappointed for now however.

A: Pours a hazy medium golden yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate burnt orange + honey colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy foamy off-white head that slowly reduces to a couple of medium sized patches of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of pineapple juice with just shy of moderate aromas of bready + grain malts with a light amount of grainy sweetness and light aromas of floral + citrus/grapefruit zest hops.

T: Upfront there are just shy of moderate flavors of bready + grain malts with a light to moderate amount of grainy sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of pineapple juice. Finally there are light flavors of floral + citrus/grapefruit zest hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which fades away quickly leaving light lingering pineapple flavors.

M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and refreshing - the combination of the lightness of body and the slightly sweet pineapple juice make a combonation that is really nice for hot weather and being at/near the beach.

Bright golden beer,
Juicy yet crisp, the pineapple is present but I’m the background, no overwhelming at all. Tastey beer for the beach, wish it was in cans.

L: Poured from a can to a pint glass. Had a yellowish color and a cloudy consistency. There was a thin, foamy head that lasted a below average amount of time. Pretty good lacing.

S: A decent aroma of pineapple, hops, malt, a floral quality, and some citrus.

T: Tasted of a small amount of malt (mostly in the finish), a tinge of the floral quality, a moderate amount of hops (not that much), a good shot of pineapple, citrus (lemon), and some random tropical fruits. A decent enough flavor, but not quite as effervescent as you might think. Still, it's light, fruity and sweet.

F: A solid amount of carbonation with a slightly slick finish. Light-bodied.

O: This is the kind of beer that would be good for the summer months. Worth a look.

Bottle. For what it is worth, I didn't really get much pineapple. It was more of a fruit juice concoction. The aroma wasn't very defined and I thought the flavor had an off note to it.

Picked this up when I was in Florida back in November, as I wished for a 'Pineapple Beach" of my own. While this certainly win any awards, this was a fun beer that was filling, easygoing, and had the feeling of a Pilsener underneath it's slightly gimmicky-but-pleasing exterior!

Of course, the pour to this beer was blonde, bright, and nearly clear. Not a lot of head to this as it quickly settled and the only lacing on my pint glass was near the top, in the form of a few rings. While they weren't pineapple rings, there was plenty of that in the aroma along with straw and cereal. This lightness continued on in the taste with minimal malt and body to back it up. Sure, the Pilsner Malt had to be in there somewhere but it was so faint as to nearly recede into the background. True to form, there was light bitterness here with some hints of grape juice and some light grain to it. Not much of an aftertaste but the pineapple remained in the form of a juicy slickness that stuck around on my teeth for a while.

There had to be alcohol in here somewhere too but it was hard to discern. For the Sunshine State, this was a fitting beer that called for another once it was finished off. Bottled on 9/25, it held up well but wasn't anything outstanding in any aspect. Given how cold it's been outside, I'd give anything to have one more of these on a nice November night below 30 degrees latitude - what else could one ask for down there?

Tastes like a lager with pineapple juice. Easy to drink. But it’s very sweet. One or two are refreshing in the hot Florida weather. But I don’t think I’d want to drink this all day.

Poured out a clear, golden color with a small, short-lived head. It smelled of faint pineapple notes and caramel. Sweet pineapple taste is muted with toasted caramel and a mild bitterness.

I've heard nothing but good things about this Beer, to be honest this company always seemed a bit too gimmick driven with the audacious labels and the bottles shaped like Buddha but figured what the hey I'll give it a shot. The color was light yellow, the aroma of tropical fruits filled the air, it was as advertised as a beach drink but after the first couple of sips it just turned into a gross weird flavor, the pineapple just sort of mutated into an almost flat rotten taste. The after taste that at first was sweet just turned into an old lemonade taste. Not something I would get again.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter.

A: Sunny golden color with a light haze.
White fine-bubbled head. Sticky lacing.

S: bready pilsner malt and floral hops. Pineapple is actually pretty faint.

T: Bready pilsner malt base. Floral amd grassy hopping. Unlike the nose, there's plenty of pineapple at work here. It tastes like the freshly sliced fruit. Easy and dry finish.

M: Light bodied. Light and creamy/airy texture. Ample carbonation adds a bit of a crisp bite.

O: Really good. Solid blonde ale that never loses its identity as a beer despite the fruit addition. The pineapple, while a bit lost on the nose, tastes very fresh and natural and is an easy fit. It all makes for a very easy and quaffable beer that's perfect for a warm sunny day outside.

Pours a clear light gold color. Thin white head dissipates steadily leaving no residual lacing or head.

Smell has notes of sweet pineapple juice, cracker malts, and some herbal hops, with a hint of metallic note.

Taste follows the nose with some pineapple, sweet pineapple juice, slightly acidic, green hops, not very bitter on the backend. Strong metallic flavor throughout the beer. Not sure what its from, but its quite distracting and not very good.

Feel is fizzy, somewhat dry on the back end. Pretty light bodied, and in spite of the carbonation, its pretty drinkable.

Overall this would be a solidly average blond ale except for that distracting metallic aroma and moreso flavor.

There's so much love for this brewer, but I quite haven't found what the fuss is about on them, certainly not Pineapple Beach...

Out of the glass it has a very nice hazy orange-yellowish hue with a bright white head. The head has good staying power and there's decent lacing down the glass. I could pull scents of pineapple and orange and all of it blending well with the ale backdrop. The mouthfeel assails you at first with high carbonation, but it tamps down a bit as it warms and allows you to enjoy the light-bodied, sessionable brew that this itself offers. The taste was somewhere between acidic and unremarkable, but not so acidic to be bad. Mostly, it was unremarkable. Though not a bad blonde ale, certainly not one to stand out from the crowd.

Pours clear , gold in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is grain, honey, and pineapple juice. Sweet with extra sweetness at the end, light bodied, with high carbonation. Tastes like a good kolsch. Really wanted more pineapple flavor. It is present as pineapple juice at the end but it does not pop. Not a bad beer, but a bit of a disappointment given the expectations from the name.

The Brewers suggest 38°F in a Pilsner.
This is too cold. 45°F is better to bring out the taste.

The bottle date is in mini laser print.
I needed the magnifier on my phone read it. Perhaps March.

Pours a cloudy pineapple color with a one finger head.
Aroma is good- pineapple, some citrus.
MF tangy, mild hoppiness.
It tasted weird at first, with warming it's a decent pineapple.

Overall. Not my favorite beer from the brewery, which has a number of excellent beers.

It's really a summer beer. Perhaps after doing the lawn. Same class as a Shandy.
