Excited my wife brought me my first Funky Buddha beer from her vacation. Poured a clear orange gold with little head. Mild citrus pine smell. Taste follows suit. Nothing spectacular but not a bad brew, beats a souvenir t-shirt any day of the week!

Appearance – The beer was a shiny copper in color with a nice, pure white head.

Smell – The light grain and citrus hops play well together.

Taste – Here the rind comes out a bit more but otherwise nicely balanced.

Mouthfee – This is medium-bodied with a dry character throughout.

Drinkability – A true session American IPA.

A clear gold color. There was a thick white head and abundant lace.
Mostly citrus aroma, a little pine. Strong sweet malt background.
Grapefruit and caramel competed with each other. Hint of pine.
Very malt forward beer.

Notes from 7/2012

Pours a clear iced-tea color with a very creamy head that absolutely covers the glass in lacing. Has a nice balance of malt and hops. Initially, it seems very malty, but the hops really come on strong midway through and last through the finish. A lot of citrus, but some pine on the finish. Some slight caramel and biscuit malt. Medium creamy mouthfeel. Pretty nice over all, but a bit too much malt for me.

12 oz bottle, Bottled on dating (02/18/16) etched onto the bottle

Pours typical looking medium almond Amber, moderate lite khaki cap and leaving respectable long sheeting and then some blotchy lace on the glass.

Soft nose of pine and resins hops

Super smooth on the palate, gonna give high marks for the mouthfeel here.

Hoppedmup and pleasing IPA, nothing especially amazing, but well worth a try...

Pours a clear orange with two fingers of white head that lace the glass all the way down. Smell is citrus, bread, and a small amount of pine. The taste has more floral and pine than the smell with a pineapple flavor kicking in. The feel is medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation. This is a decent IPA. I could easily drink this on a regular basis.

Copper penny color with a quarter inch of off white resting on top. Moderate lacing. Floral and tropical hops dominate the nose. I taste a blend of overripe pineapple, citrus, and grapefruit. There's a nice deep burn on the tongue from the hops. The mouth is surprisingly smooth and thirst quenching. I figured it would be a bit more sticky considering the strength and the aggressive hopping.

A solid everyday IPA. Nice floral and fruit notes on the nose. Medium hops note early that build with slight dank bitterness at finish. Sweet mouthfeel. Not a hop bomb but a nice solid brew. For Florida IPAs I prefer Cigar city's Jai Alai.

Served on tap in a shaker pint glass

A - Copper clear amber with a 2 finger white head white great retention and moderate bubbly lacing.

S - grassy, pine, citrus, a touch of herbal hops

T - Pretty nice variety of hops notes, predominately citrus, with grapefruit, orange rind, a touch of grass and moderately bitter finish.

M - medium body, moderate carbonation. chewy, wet.

O - Pretty decent IPA, but nothing particularly stellar and fairly vanilla and seemingly boring compared to Buddha fairly unique style. Drinkable, but many better ipas out there.
