I picked up a 6-pack of cans at my local Publix for $12. It tastes like a very sour lime soda with a hint of beer. The lime flavor is really strong. It was interesting to try. But I wouldn't drink it often.

Pours a semi cloudy gold color with a ½” of off-white foam, active micro-bubbles, even hold with some spotty lacing in the glass. Aromas of fresh lime peel, pale malts, doughy pie crust, biscuit, light lactobacillus funk, mild sugary sweetness, touch of vanilla and subtle hint of salt. Taste is tart lime juice, sour wheat, semi grassy hay, pinch of sea salt, very subtle cinnamon spice, and mild vanilla. Mouthfeel is crisp, thin body, prickly carbonation and a juicy finish with mild lingering wheat and a touch of vanilla mixed with tart lime zest. Overall flavor is pretty close to a ‘Key Lime Pie’ taste; it’s refreshing to drink and very sessionable, not too tart of overly sweet. It could use a dollop of whipped cream on top to make it 100%

Gold slightly hazy pour. Small white head that quickly fades. No lacing after the heads settles. Slight funk, lime and biscuits. Tart and crisp. Funk lingers. Lawnmower beer if there every was one. Definitely enjoyable and tasty. Recommended.

Golden pour with light haze. Normal head volume and retention, poor lacing.

Light nose that has hints of lime and the barnyard aspect of the lactobacillus. Nothing really exciting. Consequently only a good rating.

Light body with hints of oily slickness on the finish. Quite outstanding carbonation / body balance. Mid-palate effervescence is lively. The finish is short of rollicking but gives a nice prickly tightly bubbled finish.

The flavor profile is outstanding. There is no bitterness to speak of. However, it is quite tart. Lime is the main, and dominate, flavor component. The middle has the lightest touch of biscuit and an even lighter touch of underlying sweetness. Underneath the lime, the barnyard funk of lactobacillus is rather evident and is the second most powerful component. Lime and laco funk linger.

Overwhelming lime taste. Pie is misleading- bottle describes it as ‘flavored tart ale’ which is far more accurate. Bottle also describes as berliner-style wheat ale with key-lime juice- it is not that berlinerish. Tastes like ale with strong lime flavor.

Interesting tart ale, not my favorite but worthy to be mentioned. Didn't care for the smell, extreme tart aroma, too strong for my taste. But once you drink it, the tart ale leaves a nice key lime pie flavor aftertaste, balanced and smooth.

Hazy straw color with small white head in my 4 oz taster.

Aromas of hay, men's room, and farm land.

Tartness invades with squirts of lime juice and salt, followed by woody hay and grassy notes.

Feel is crisp and tight. Moderately clean.

Overall not a show stopper, overrated before it's even out of the gate. It's okay, nothing more. I ended up not buying the 4 pack. Much better options available.

Pours a faded lime green and hazy orange . Initial notes off the nose of lime, vanilla, and slight cinnamon. Initial tart taste with notes of lime (stays throughout) with very faint notes of vanilla on finish. Overall strong notes of lime and tart feeling, refreshing but not getting strong taste of other flavors, which I would’ve preferred due to the name.

this beer is literally not real. on tap at their original lounge location, what a treat! i think its made only here, and i know its awfully special. they had a bunch of cool flavored (of course!) berliners while we were there, and this was without question the standout. the thing that makes this one special, is all the other ingredients in a key lime pie that arent limes themselves. im not sure there is graham cracker crust in here, or whipped topping, or any of the stuff that makes pie pie, but i will say the lime component is dialed to a degree rarely seen, and the beer does taste like the dessert in its whole, for whatever thats worth, all aspects included. the sourness here is less than some of their other berliner types, which makes for a more drinkable brew, but with this intensity of flavor, i doubt how many i could have. even being dedicated, this is limey and sweet and sour at the same time, and maybe three would be the upper limit. i love the candied lime aspect, and how they have integrated the honey graham crust, and the sourness doesnt seem to spoil it at all. good berliner weiss most definitely doesnt need to be flavored, but when it is, it should taste like this. my favorite of the several iterations we had at the lounge...

Look: looks like key lime pie, like green in color, can't see through it, little light passes through, little to no head
Smell: salt and key limes... Uber citrus bomb
Taste: key limes, salt, Latic acid and more citrus
Feel: too dry, medium body and medium carbonation.
Overall: solid beer

Funky Buddha
Key Lime Pie Berliner
On tap at the Oakland Park Brewery

Very hazy dark golden yellow, small white head. Aroma is big lime.
Really does taste like key lime pie, with tart lime upfront and then sweetness and a pie crust like flavor that comes on the finish and lingers forever. Remarkable really how much it tastes like key lime pie. Mouthfeel is good and drinkability is great. Overall, I love it. Best Berliner weisse I've ever had, easily.

I'm proud to say this was created by man.....was a great artistic example of what beer can be. Taking the "sour" to the next level of greatness. You can actually taste the key-lime pie with even a finish of the crust. The body of the beer is cloudy and the smell is that of lime and other citrus goodness. But it's in the sour punch that really knocks your socks off. Of the 10 different samples I tried, the Key Lime was the one beer I needed a full glass of....and I had two. I was overly impressed with Funky Buddha as a brewery but this particular brew blew me away. Hats off to Funky Buddha.

A seriously hazy glass sits in front of me. A thick ring still clings to the glass but it leaves no lace.
Wafting out are notes of Key lime, spice, floral, wheat and malt. The balance is superb.
Taste is amazing. Key lime tartness, spice (nutmeg & cinnamon?), malt and wheat. Wow, this is phenomenal. Great balance and complexity.
Medium bodied, light-medium effervescence with a nice, mellow aftertaste of lime &spices. One of their best.

This beer doesn't really taste as advertised. I'm not a big fan. Mostly it just tastes light with a hint of lime. Not enough sweetness or a taste of graham cracker at all. Meh. Their other beers are much better

On tap at the Peg’s Berliner Bash. Served in a mini snifter. Pours a light Ecto Cooler color with a short white head. Nose has a good dose of sour lime and accompanying peel. Nice wheat in the background of the flavor. Lime element is really nice and fits the style quite well. Light and dry with slight acidity. Really pleasant.

Draft at Monk's Cafe in Philadelphia, PA.

Pours a hazy ecto cooler/booger green color with a half finger off-white head that immediately fades away. No retention or lacing. Doesn't look very good.

The aroma of this beer is pretty crazy. Smells more like a dessert beer with lots of tart lime/citrus, subtle lactic funk and even some whip cream. Smells just like pie but not really like a typical Berliner Weiss. Pretty intense but almost artificial. Still, they nailed what they were going for.

Medium bodied with soft carbonation and a very sweet and tart lime presence. Again, it tastes very close to the dessert with lots of tart lime and whip cream but this slightly overpowers the characteristics of the style. Decent amount of sourness but only subtle lactic funk and some faint sourdough bread flavor. Really good but could have been legendary if it wasn't as one dimensional.

On-tap at Berliner Bash.

A - Pours a cool light green/moss color, white head.

S - Lime, lacto funk, light citrus peel, good tart/sour notes. Really smells like Key Lime, which I absolutely love.

T - Key Lime Pie without the graham cracker crust. Nice light lacto tartness, lime, citrus zest, and wheat in the background. Finish is tart citrus/lime.

M - Light, refreshing, good carbonation, dry tart finish.

O - Loved this berliner and thought it was just super-drinkable and refreshing. I would def have this one again, if I had the chance. Another really nice berliner from FB.
