Received in a trade and shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice crystal clear light straw with a thin head that fades to leave a thin blanket and light wisps.

S - Aromas of nice vanilla cream, nice marshmallow notes, faint toasted dried cereal grains. There is an odd slightly fruity note that distracts this beer.

T - Taste is similar to the nose, the start is rather fruity cereal grain, leads to a dry toasted grain, very nice vanilla and marshmallow flavour. The start of the beer though with the fruity notes is really distracting.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, bit sticky and thin.

O - Overall this was a rather interesting beer. The vanilla and marshmallow notes were great, however, the start of the grain notes are oddly fruity which is very weird and detract from this beer.

Thanks to rudzud

Pours a decent fizzy fluffy head that fades fairly quickly, mostly clear pale yellow straw color.

Nose not bad, fair marshmallow aroma, some toasted cereal and rice like, fruit lemony like thing almost like captain crunch or other slight fruity cereal, raw bread dough, little vanilla.

Taste brings sweet fruity flavors, a little more like fruity cereal almost fruity pebbles but not quite that level, touch lemony, then goes into a little marshmallow and creamy toasty rice, little bitter grassy hop. Finish fairly dry, little bitter grassy hop, bit of lemon fruity cereal and marshmallow.

Mouth is med to lighter bod, decent but little light on carb.

Overall ok not great.

Pours a very light, white wine looking color with no head whatsoever. Smell is of light pineapple juice and marshmallow. Taste is a bit champagne like, along with some light lager notes. Aftertaste is dry and somewhat reminiscent of eating a rice Krispy treat.

Not sure if I would have guessed that this was a rice Krispy beer tasting blind. OK beer, worth trying once, would drink again but wouldn't go out of my way to get it.

Looks golden with a slight haze throughout. Smells of vanilla and marshmallows with a hint of a fruity essence and sugar sweetness. Taste of marshmallows hit you at first but became much more subdued as you kept drinking. There was a pleasant bitterness/toastiness on the back end that balanced out all the sweetness from the front end. Despite the two sides working in harmony the interplay leaves a strange almost astringent aftertaste that is not pleasant. Overall I would say it is a lackluster blonde ale that is trying too hard to remind you of rice crispies treats. If they would have just stuck to making it a vanilla/marshmallow blonde ale, I think it would have been better received. Would drink it again but would not seek it out.

Overly excited for after French toast but was let down. I think FB hit what they were aiming for but it was kinda weak. The beer was very one dimensional. The taste was a muted marshmallow with a hint of the crispy rice in the aftertaste. This beer was not what I was expecting as FB usually nails it with these novelty beers. If you see it I'd probably pick it up for a decent price but wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Reviewed from notes. Had on-tap at Mellow Mushroom in Brandon. Served in a small waisted pilsner glass.

A: Light gold, and mildly hazy. Forms a thin white head, albeit with good retention and low carbonation sensation.

S: Creamy sweetness, very light cracker malt, and marshmallows as well - it really does smell like Rice Krispies treats. Sweet but not overly cloying.

T: Cracker and pilsner malts, lactose sweetness, vanilla and marshmallow flavor. Light citrus and floral hops on the back end. The sweet marshmallowy vanilla lasts in the hang, but still not a sickly sweet.

M: Light body, no real alcohol presence. A bit lower carbonation sensation than I think would be ideal, but not at all flat.

O: An interesting beer, and one that I'm glad to have tried. As has been my experience with several other Funky Buddha "dessert" beers, it does what it says it's aiming to do and it is enjoyable on some level. It isn't anything I'd seek out repeatedly, but worth a drink for kitsch if nothing else.

On tap at the brewery. Served in a snifter.

Appearance - Very pale slightly hazy with a small white head. The thinnest of collars. Nothing else.

Smell - Marshmallow is very prominent. Pilsner malt. Not much else.

Taste - Grainy. Very grainy. Not a lot of flavor. Light cereal malt (really). Marshmallow comes out. I get the idea.

Mouthfeel - Light and drinkable. Funny sharp flavor in the back end.

Overall - Not very flavorful, but I get the Rice Krispies Treat idea.

First had: on tap at Devil's Den, Philly, PA

Hazy golden color with a thin white head; minimal lacing. Sweet aroma, spot-on Rice Krispies treat, Nilla wafers, toasted grains. Unfortunately, the taste didn't live up to the aroma. Slight notes of toasted marshmallow, cereal grains, crackery pale malts, creme soda; flavor was good, but on the weak side. Mouthfeel was light and a bit thin. I know it's a cream ale, but it was just a bit lacking overall...except the aroma. A nice idea, but just didn't stack up to FB's other brews. Still neat though.

I try to think of a style that might make for a better Rice Krispie treat beer, but I can't really do it. Maybe a white stout? Inspiring.

On-tap at Funky Buddha's Buddha Goes Wild Night. Served in a 12oz Funky Buddha snifter. I believe this was the debut of this beer.

A- Completely translucent golden color that appears almost completely still in the glass with absolutely no head and pretty much no lacing.

S- Wow smells as much like a Rice Krispies Treat as a beer possibly good. Lots of ultra sweet marshmellow, sugary candy, vanilla, wafers, etc.. Fairly aromatic, but way too sweet/sugary smelling- overall though I think they nailed what they were going for: making this smell like a Rice Krispies Treat as the name would imply!

T- Tastes pretty much like a marshmellow cotton candy flavored cream ale. Very sugary tasting, definitely on the sweeter side for beers.

M- Light, easy drinking (once you get past the sweetness), carbonation a little bit on the low side.

O- This was a very unique beer that I definitely enjoyed trying out. Like all the Funky Buddha beers the flavor profile in this was spot on and it smelled and tasted almost identically like a liquefied Rice Krispies Treat. All the Funky Buddha beers I've had have been amazing, but this one was just a little bit too sweet. Looking at the abv you would think this would be sessionable, I drank my glass no problem but it was just way too sweet to drink more then one. Overall I recommend trying Rice Krispies Ale for the experience but if you get the chance I'd recommend trying the Sweet Potatoe Casserole, No Crusts, or one of their other beers over this.
