Growler shared by Sean. Thanks! Served in a snifter.

A - Dark tan foam settles to a thin cap, collar, and specks of lace. Dark brown body with a glint of transparency at the edges of the glass.

S - Big coffee character, and a hefty dose of sweet malt flavors. The sweetness is almost evocative of maple, although I don't actually think there is maple added to this Funky Buddha porter variant; perhaps it's just the caramel and vanilla flavors mixing with the lactose.

T - The taste is pretty similar, with a mix of coffee, caramel, vanilla, and chocolate. Mocha is a pretty accurate descriptor. This is extremely reminiscent of Maple Bacon Coffee Porter; guessing it's nearly the same recipe, but without an ingredient or two.

M - Medium body, with a chewy, sticky, texture. There's some roast coffee grit to it, and a lingering sticky, finish. Carbonation is fairly low. Nothing super exciting here; style and ABV appropriate.

D - This was quite good. A poor man's Maple Bacon Coffee Porter. Would happily drink again any time. Perhaps a bit too saccharine for all night drinking, but could definitely drink a few pours.

On tap at the brewery. Served in a snifter.

Appearance - Black and slightly opaque at the edges. Nice mocha head. Doesn't last long. Everyone else's glass retained better than mine. Hmm.

Smell - Really nice. Coffee and dark chocolate. Dominated by coffee and chocolate.

Taste - Again dominated by coffee and chocolate, but the flavors are more distinct. Coffee up front with more of the porter coming through. If it's based on the OP Porter, I'm not getting the lactose. Chocolate comes through with a very bitter chocolate finish.

Mouthfeel - I'd like it to be chewier, but it's got a good body.

Overall - This doesn't reach the heights of their other porter treatments, but it's pretty damn tasty.
