Just IPA | The Just Beer Project

Brewed by:
The Just Beer Project
Vermont, United States
Style: American IPA
Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.80%
Availability: Year-round
Notes / Commercial Description:
It’s not 2,000 BUs. The hops weren't harvested from the grounds of a temple in the heart of a jungle that you've never even heard of. This beer won’t change your attitude. We're not trying to scare you or numb your tongue. You just drink it.
It tastes great. JUST IPA.

A: Poured from the growler into a Sam Smith's nonic. Body is clear honey-amber in color with a small whitish head.
S: Leafy and citrusy hops over caramel malt and toffee malt foundation. Hops are more dominant, but there is a nice malt base.
T: Follows the nose, with a crackery, biscuity foundation - with a touch of caramel malt - and then citrusy hops with a touch of pine needles and earthy spice. Reminds me of Founders' All Day IPA in a lot of ways. Finishes with a lemony bitterness that lingers on the aftertaste.
M: A bit flat, and thus some slickness. Medium in heft.
O: Good stuff at this price point (growler was $8.99) and for what it is supposed to be - i.e., a sessionable IPA.

Copper body clean fine carbonation, crystal clear filtered body. Node has mild floral and grapefruit tones, wit a pleasant bready quality. Crisp bitterness not much hop flavor some rough earthy floral tones. Mouthfeel is light to medium with a tad too much forced carbonation, a beer I'm glad I tried on tap before being suckered into a whole sixer!

The just beer project..great beer for all. ok, well...i'm down with that. At 4.8 % alc. by vol this is a bit of a bub category for the style. "Session IPA".
Several shades of gold in color, substantial, lacy foam, active, lively look.
The aroma is dominated by a cascade-like (and maybe just Cascade? no info is given) hop, tangy sharp and earthy. That's what I get.
The hop is a very hearty and complex IPA, but verging on Pale Ale, much like the Harpoon "IPA" A beer that i really love, but is a small IPA at best, hop-wise. This one is an easy gulp, Balance of flavor's is good with a peppery- sharp but slightly bitter and tangy hop complexity that is really very note worthy. Low ABV. and big taste.
I held off on this one until it was almost the single last beer I had not tried yet that was available in my local area. glad I gave it shot!

Clear orange hue with a half finger of white head. Subtle nose of grain and flowery hops.
Actually impressed with this beer, I know they were pushing the hell out of it. Light to medium bodied with a piney and grapefruity bitter hop profile, finishes with a lingering toasted bread flavor. Simple but that's what they were going for, clean and sessionable. Simple but Pretty good

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Sampled on October 3, 2013. I hope I am reviewing the correct beer because the label lists this as a cooperative effort with Boston Beer Company.
It pours copper to yellow with a quick lasting white fizzy head. Good clarity.
Biscuit malts and floral hops are the main thing on the nose. The hops are a bit more predominant that the biscuit.
Medium and somewhat smooth body.
The taste also brings forth a biscuit note at first which is superseded by the floral and earthy hops for a reasonably balanced IPA. Nothing extraordinary here but drinkable.
