Oyster Bay IPA 12 oz. can opened at 50F in February, 2020. Canned version says 6.1%, less than the 7% shown above.Beer was poured into a sham pilsner glass. Big blast of aroma hops billowed out of the glass. Body was a slightly hazy, deep amber. The head was large with a rocky top, long lasting, leaving good lacing. The flavor was tilted toward hop character. Both aromatic and bitter elements ware there. I think this could satisfy either a fan of the trendy fruity, floral IPAs as well as the drinker who likes more traditional flavors. The aftertaste is mild. I think this is a satisfying modern IPA with a middle-of-the-road 6.1% alcohol content.

How could a small downtown famous from Gatsby support such a winning IPA?
Love all about this. Imagine oyster shells in the barrel too.
A) Rocky, bulbous head.
S) Mineral, salt, hops. Sweet and salty.
T) Approachable, sessionable balanced flavor profile because not too sweet or overdone.
F) Chalky, seaside dryness.
O) Winner. First from this brewer.

-clear amber-orange tap pour with minimal aroma. Flavor is sweet malt with minimal hop bite. The body is thin.
I would not have known that this was an IPA/DIPA without the label at the brewery.

Would have rated a 3.5 but oyster bay took the liberty of giving themselves a 5 so i am rating it 1 point lower to make up for their over rating
Pours hazy orange. Foamy, medium, white head fades slowly. Good lace.
Smells malt, pine and citrus.
Tastes Bready Malt, Carmel, Pine. Followed by a bitter Pine finish that lingers a while with light malt. Medium body and smooth medium carbonation.

12 oz can, canning date printed on the bottom, but numbers cannot be made out
Pours lightly hazed, typical amber. Darker khaki cap, lasting and lasting, leaving moderate amounts of larger bubble strands of sticky lacing.
Sniff reveals a hint of malt and dusty hops in the background.
Im guessing this brew is at least a few months old, cuz its mostly about the malt at this point....maple and more maple.
Drinks as a respectable amber ale...IPA? ehh not so much

Brought back from Long Island, where I was visiting my parents' for the Fourth of July. Amazing how many breweries have sprouted on Long Island the last five to seven years. I remember when it was Blue Point or nothing forever.
This seemed delicious at the barbecue but I was pounding more than tasting. Appearance and smell are both only okay. Not much for head and some funk and graininess to go with the pine and citrus you expect on the nose.
Taste delivers what you expect without blowing your mind. Decent up front bitterness and broad biscuit notes but lacking a little something on the follow through. The texture is tight and oily but the flavor sinks rather than soars. Still very serviceable, especially during IPA season.
