A dark traditional dry stout with a frothy, tan head and smooth roasted malt flavor. Leaving you with distinct dark chocolate and coffee taste. Big in aroma! Jimmy Carbone's "favorite beer of 2012".

On tap at Rockaway Brewery, Far Rockaway, NYC.
Pours a mostly pitch black color with hints of dark mahogany. A large creamy tan head reaches almost to the bottom and, similar to a Guinness, takes a moment to settle. The head retains throughout along with rings of lacing.
A pleasant roasty aroma evokes dark chocolate and espresso. There are also aromas of caramel, hone, biscuity and dark toasted malts.
Flavors align with aroma as a biscuity sweetness is balanced by roasty espresso bitterness, dark chocolate and earthy hops.
Full bodied, mouth coating and creamy. Ultra smooth overall with a low carbonation that reflects the nitro pour. The finish is dry and roasty.
I enjoyed this as it reminded me of a slightly more bitter Guinness.

On Nitro at Standing Room, LIC.
Nitro tan bishop’s collar over jet. 4
Lots of chocolate chip and oatmeal. 4.25
Huge whack of chocolate, some brown sugar, sweet roast, and a suddenly tight clean hoppy linger. 4.25
Light-medium, clean, slight chew. 4
Nails session chocolate stout, but cleans up after itself, too. And kudos to the venue for the serving temp. Rockaway have hit their stride. 4.25
