Notes:
This handsome fella is loaded with late addition kettle hops and lupulin powder. Pretty insane stuff with the amount of flaked wheat and oats. Hopped with Simcoe, Idaho 7, and Citra Lupulin Powder.

Growler into pint glass. Pours a murky amber (SRM between 6 and 8) with a brief off-white head. Initial impression is grapefruit, melon, pear, pineapple, a touch of pine resin, and caramel malt. Mouthfeel is soft, thick and sticky, and the alcohol is quite well hidden. Finish is more citrus, with a somewhat sweet morph. Overall, a delicious DIPA!

32 oz. crowler poured into a nonic one day after filling.
Looks good. Hazy and orangish with a big fluffy inch and a half of white foam that hangs around for a while before receding to a spotty cap. The nose however is outstanding! A myriad of strong resinous hop aromas spill forth. I can isolate pear and pineapple but it is mostly a tropical fruit cocktail. Not surprisingly the flavor starts tropical and resinous turns peppery than finishes bitter. The medium body is mostly soft, a bit prickly and a little chewy.
Definitely smooth, juicy and a little dangerous as the 8.8 ABV is not apparent....by taste...

Traded for this a while ago, but unsure when as there wasn't a date on the bottom of the can. This was the first brew that I had from RAR and it wasn't bad for the style, even though it was a bit too strong for me. If you like your IPA's to be full, sticky, and dank, then this one would certainly be up your alley!
This had a muddle apricot hue to it as the head was hardly anywhere to be seen. Ditto for the carbonation as this can may have been quite old, with the turbid hue of this beer being it's only aspect that held up over time. Lots of pine and kiwi in the nose as the taste contained those as well, along with a sticky hoppy presence and a ton of resin underneath that. A ton of body from the oats rounded the mouthfeel out as this was very chewy and full, with it requiring a slow sipping to fully enjoy. Lime and honey stood out to me as this wasn't quite typical for it's style but was close enough to that as to not having any outstanding attributes to it.
Lots of booze here but it wasn't tasted so much as I could feel it before I finished it off. Some more carbonation would have been nice, as that would have mad this lighter, but this wasn't a bad beer overall. It just didn't stand out to me in any aspect, as it was only worth a go once. A decent effort by RAR but some stamping on the bottom of the can would have been appreciated!

Nice IPA and well made. Just leans too much towards the heavy earthy resin, musty, bitter direction for me. Nothing wrong with it, but just a been there done that so many times that it just didn't work for me. Probably really good for someone else. Considering the many awesome IPAs at RAR...I'll just look for the next one.

Had on tap at max's taphouse in fells point. Really strong showing from RAR that kept me coming back for more. Great bitter pine and resin notes of a west coast DIPA with some of the juicy mouthfeel of a NE IPA.

A really nice combo of citrus, piney, and dank flavors. Not too sweet or boozy (my biggest turnoffs with DIPA's). This paired equally well with first at dinner a steamed artichoke with lemon butter, and afterwards an orange.

Fresh can (1/21 release) poured into Belgian ale glass.
L: 2 finger foamy head with OK retention. Spotty lacing. Thin ring. Beer is a hazy orange-gold.
S: Nice grapefruit, tropical fruits, and pine. Promise of a good dank finish. It's very nice.
T: Follows nose. Lots of grapefruit, lime, pineapple, orange, and then the flaked wheat and oats control the bitterness beautifully and bring you to a nice dank finish.
F: Light to medium body and carbonation. Good balance and drying, good construction. Very drinkable at this ABV, a word of warning.
O: This is a very nice DIPA and I love the Idaho 7 hop.

Poured from can.
(L) Slightly hazy golden color. Thin off-white head.
(A) Smell was piney. Some grapefruit.
(T) Taste follows flavor. Not overly juicy. More pine-y and more dank than I was expecting. Super balanced though.
(F) Medium bodied, and super smooth. Goes down super easy considering abv.
