A-Pours a very interesting color. It's really milky. Almost pours like a pulpy lemonade. Very pale, milky yellow. Never seen a color like it. Reluctant, white head that quickly pops off to nothingness.

S-Sticking my nose to the bottle, it smelled like puke. Now in a glass, the stinky stomach acid smell has subsided for the most part. It smells like cheesy, tart wheat. Lactic aroma. Underlying grain.

T-Really tangy lemon meringue. Sour cream. Very wheaty. Excessive lacto flavor. The first sip is a tad overwhelming but I warmed up to it pretty quickly. Cheese rind.

M-Light bodied. So much flavor at 3%, so absurd. Prickly bubbles. Lingering tartness that sticks to the lips.

O-I haven't run into a Berliner with more flavor. Intergalactic Acid is impressive in its pungency at such a low level of alcohol. I may not have loved the flavor but that is just personal preference; I can see people becoming absolutely smitten with this one.

Appearance: cloudy, whitish-yellow in color, 1/4 inch head, high carbonation--really different and cool looking

Smell: lemon, funk, and flowers

Taste: lemon, sour candy, and flowers--maybe a taste of super pale malt

Mouthfeel: sour and sweet, medium carbonation, medium-light body

Overall: It is memorable and a day later I am still trying to decide if I like it enough to get it again. Very interesting beer, but I have had way better in the style. On the positive this is one of the best looking beers I have seen...Really nice job with the presentation.

Served in a glass chalice.

A: 4.00 - Hazy, milky yellow. Almost like yellow grapefruit juice. Head is white, about a finger's worth and it dissipates pretty quickly.

S: 3.25 - Citrusy and kinda funky

T: 4.50 - Super tart with a very nice malty beer backbone. More citrus, mainly lemon.

M: 4.50 - Clean taste, super refreshing and rediculously sessionable at only 3%. Nicely carbonated - just enough it seems.

O: 4:25 I really dig Berliners and this is an excellent one, perfect for summer. Would really like to try this with some woodruff.

22oz bomber
A) Pours with a finger thick, white head that settles quickly. Leaving a thin lacing around the edge of the glass. Hazy, pale gold colored body.
S) Earthy. Grainy. Hints of lemon.
T) Tart Lemon. Subtle notes of grains. Lingering tartness in the aftertaste.
M) Very light body. Some chalkiness in the finish.
O) A well crafted and true to form Berliner Weissbier. Glad I have a bomber of it.

Consumed 6/23/13

Appearance: Hazy, cloudy pale yellow - kind of a white/milky tone to it - some clarity around the edges that kind of reminds me of a barrel-aged fruit beer or something (rather strange) - pours with a bright white head, leaves some streaks of lacing - somewhere between unattractive and intriguing

Smell: Funky and fruity - damp, tart lactic acidity - some sour wheat - some fruitiness, like hints of grapefruit pith, but mostly lemon - overall, pretty light (which is intentional)

Taste: Nicely tart and funky while being simultaneously clean - nice lactic sourness, damp without being musty - medium level of tartness, melds well with the sour character - malts are very wheaty (think: wheat bran), but the flavor is mild enough that it works very well here - minimally bitter grapefruit and lemon - finishes extremely clean

Mouthfeel: Light body, excellently carbonated, very refreshing

Overall: Drop it like it's hot

This is a stellar Berliner Weiss. It's tart, funky, crisp, refreshing, and it doesn't taste like someone tried to brew vegetable broth. And the bottle was only $5! I will be buying more of this charming concoction.
