A big beer with a big name. This stout is rich and creamy thanks to the addition of milk sugar. It is brewed with chocolate malt and has a heavy dose of cocoa nibs for a chocolate finish and rich aroma.

Appearance: Stunning, massive and dense tan head crowns a dark amber body. The head retention is utterly superb, with little diminishment, even after several minutes. thick, dense and absolutely unbroken lacing adorns the glass walls.
Aroma: Massive waves of bittersweet chocolate present, followed by fresh ground coffee, bourbon, and wood. Overall, the alcohol notes are rather subtle.
Taste: The opening of the taste offers a brief punch of milk sweetness, caramel, and brown sugar, soon followed by bitter chocolate and cold coffee. There is a pronounced undercurrent of bourbon and wood. In light of the high ABV, the alcohol presence seems quite mild and subtle, and is only mildly warming. In the middle of the taste, waves of sweet and tart flavors vie for dominance. Finally there is a bit of char at the close of the taste, bringing it to a gracious close.
Mouth feel: Very smooth and soft, exquisitely full, with a very slight string of carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: Simply excellent, would serve as an excellent dessert pairing with a rich chocolate cake, or peanut butter cups.
Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce aluminum can, served in a Save the World Brewing Teku.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a deep cola color with a small tan colored head. The head has a moderate level of retention, fading over time to leave a little bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is massive of a roasted malt smell mixed with a big milk chocolate smell. Along with these nice dark and roasty aromas comes some molasses and brown sugar sweetness as well as a little bit of char smell. Overall rich and inviting.
Taste – The taste begins with a sweet and roasty flavor with the sweet being a mix of brown sugar, caramel and the roastiness coming from a toasted malt and a dark chocolate flavor. There is a light level of a milky latte like taste upfront, with this flavor getting stronger and stronger as the taste advances. At the same time more caramel and some molasses comes to the taste to sweeten it up even more. A little bit of an almost rum like booziness (spice and boozy heat) comes at the end of the taste and mixes with the roasty, sweet, and milk chocolate flavors rather well to create a nice big warming taste.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thick and creamy with a carbonation level that is average. For the style and the tastes the feel is wonderful and makes this brew a nice slow sipper.
Overall – A hearty and flavorful stout with a nice sweet, but not cloying, milk chocolate and warming taste. Rather well done!!

$ 3.40(Including tax and discount)/12 oz can ($ 0.283/oz) from Spec’s #100, DeZavala, San Antonio. Reviewed 3/22/19.
“20118” on bottom of the can. On shelf in store. Stored at 42 degrees and served at 54 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Appearance – 3.5.
Body – Dark brown/black, opaque.
Head – Large (Maximum 6.8 cm, aggressive center pour), tan, high density with rocks, average retention, diminishing to a three mm ring and a complete thin layer.
Lacing – None.
First pour – Dark brown, translucent.
Aroma – 4 – Very heavy roasted malt, much weaker milk chocolate.
Flavor – 3 – No chocolate, no coffee, just a semi-sweet innocuous drink. No Alcohol (10.7% ABV), no dimethylsulfide, no diacetyl.
Palate – 3 – Medium, creamy, soft carbonation.
Impression and interpretation – 3 – Looks good, smells great, flavor totally missed the mark as a chocolatey coffee stout. Some diacetyl would have been a distinct improvement. One and done.

Pours an effervescent mahogany with one finger of mocha colored head. Decent head retention & lacing
S: Cocoa & lactic sourness
T: Chocolate, a little iron, lactic notes up front along with dryness up front. Cocoa sweetness, bitterness & dryness as this warms. Finishes with cocoa & lactic sourness/dryness
MF Medium body, fairly firm carbonation, smooths out a little as it warms
Hard to believe this almost 11% ABV, drinks like a beer half that strength, a nice Chocolate accented Imperial Stout
