A - Dark, black-brown body, mostly opaque, some transparency on the edge, mild tan head, persistent cap, not much lacing.
S - Dark chocolate, alcohol warmth, wood, vanilla, and dark bread.
T - Follows the nose, fronting the barrel and vanilla, middle of cocoa and bread dough, and a mild coffee note in the close.
M - Too thin for the style, but not unpleasant. The oat element, adding fullness and slickness, is largely absent.
O - Drinkable, but ultimately missing some heft I look for in a barrel-aged beer. Not rich enough, but flavorful.
