473 ml can served cold into a shaker pint. Purchased from the LCBO for around $2.80 CDN. Interesting tidbit, the official beer of popular show LetterKenny.

Appearance - Pale golden colored beer, very light, but not quite Coors Light light in color. Small half finger of head is poured and dissipates quickly. Little carbonation throughout. Very non-descript.

Smell - Clean and rather grainy, with subtle malty sweetness and something akin to sweet corn. Very faint cooked veggie. Works but not terribly good.

Taste - A little better here. Fairly sweet, but thin enough to not overload with flavors. The not so pleasant veggie aroma doesn't show here. Thin tasting, little bitterness, but not half bad really.

Mouthfeel - Soft, light, little carbonation, so little that it reminds me of some cask ales I enjoyed a couple months back overseas. Very easy drinking.

Overall - A lot better than I expected, decent enough flavor for a light lager and the feel on this is very good and gentle, easier to drink in large quantities over an extended period.

Appearance - Pours a clear straw gold with three fingers of foamy white head.

Smell - soapy and musty hops, lager yeast, lemon, and grainy wheaty malts.

Taste - soapy and musty hops upfront. The lager yeast and lemon come through next. The grainy and wheaty malts finish the brew off.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes crisp and dry with the soapy hops, lager yeast, and lemon lingering.

Overall - A refreshing brew meant for a post-hike or post cutting the grass brew. The elements are spot on. Nothing really stands out with this one but is meant to be enjoyed after an activity.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated July 4 2018 and served slightly chilled. If nothing else, fans of unnecessary alliteration should appreciate the spiel on the back label.

Pours a clear, pale straw yellow colour; looks rather effervescent, with about an inch of smooth, soapy white head gathering atop before settling off within the next three minutes. A wide collar of frothy foam lasts on, along with an attractive swath of messy lacing; looks great for a light lager. The aroma is mostly doughy, bready pale malts, with hints of wheat grain, boiled vegetables and honeyed sweetness. Not getting any semblance of hops off the nose, just malt sweetness (of which there may be a little too much, IMO).

The flavours are along the same lines as the aroma, with doughy-sweet pale malts and bready wheat notes doing most of the legwork from the start of the sip to the finish. Light hints of cereal grain, with some faintly weedy hops barely coming through towards the finish, while the aftertaste has some briefly lingering doughy sweetness that soon fades. Light in body, with average carbonation levels for a pale lager - they provide a small bit of crispness, but the overall texture is fairly smooth. Very crushable... but at 4%, isn't that always the case?

Final Grade: 3.45, a passable B-. I've done much worse than Puppers Premium Lager, but doing better would not exactly be difficult. I can't be too hard on this one for being boring, because it's basically light beer - but it calls itself a "premium lager", which means the expectations should be a bit higher. I can't see any convincing reasons to repeat this on a regular basis, unless you're seriously into Letterkenny.
