Poured from a bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a two finger head of fluffy white foam. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave tons of streaky lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is rather dank overall with a high level of herbal and earthy hops. Along with these aromas comes a bit of a grapefruit citrus as well as a bready and malty smell. All this is rounded out by a little bit of toast and hay, giving a rather heavy IPA aroma to the brew.
Taste – The taste begins with a with a very heavy and thick caramel and bready malt taste that has a little bit of a tropical fruit flavor of tangerine and papaya. Upfront there is also the dank hop that was detected in the nose with a decent showing of some herbal and grassy tastes. The fruit that was upfront fades fast, being replaced by a bit of more caramel sweetness and even more hop. The hop that comes is mostly of more herbal hop, but it is joined by a touch of grapefruit and some nice pine hop flavors. Toward the end the maltiness seems to match pace with the increase in the hop, all while a little bit of an alcohol burn becomes more noticeable, leaving one with a rather dank and heavy malt taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thick and chewy with a carbonation level that is rather average. For the robust and heavy dank hop and malty nature of the brew the feel is rather well done, and makes this one a slow sipper indeed.
Overall – A big malty and dank brew with a bit of a sweeter side and a little hit of booziness. A rather nice slow sipping warmer overall and one I would likely come back to again.

Pours a hazy/ cloudy caramel-deep tan colored body.
Smells like a malt and piney hop-bomb.
Early on taste is caramel/ toffee malts, and then the hop bitterness rams right through.
Feels medium-chewy, smooth carbonation.
It's not that bad to sip through a half a bottle, but after that it just feels gritty, and I'm conflicted with how the malt plays into this. It's tasty and then comes off as nearly cloying. It's a big beer after all, but I'm not sure I'd give this one a go again.
I can see why this one could have people split.

Slightly opaque medium amber (12) pour with tight white head; quick cap reduction; pretty good lacing. Caramel malt and fresh hops nose. Semi sweet caramel malt and bitter hops flavors; lite citrus on the back end. Medium lite, slightly creamy mouthfeel; moderate carbonation; some warmth from the alcohol. Overall the malt more than offset the bitter hops; enjoyable DIPA.

Pours like apple juice, as far as color goes. It has a decent head, not overwhelming. Doesn’t lat long. Some lacing as you swirl, but not a lot.
Aroma is meh. First glass was terrible. Second glass isn’t quite so bad. I smell corn, maybe some cooked vegetables (again, corn). Maybe a little breadiness. Bubble gum. I’m not impressed. It has less of an aroma than say, Budweiser.
Taste is pretty sweet. Again first glass was not so good, second glass isn’t quite so terrible. It’s hoppy, but pretty smooth. It’s pretty strong. I’m not sure about taste.
Mouthfeel is very mixed. First glass, it made my mouth numb. Second glass, mouth went numb again, but not so much. It’s harsh, but that’s about all.
Overall, you should probably drink it straight it from the bottle. The more I drink it, the less I like it. But for now, as I drink it at the moment, it’s not great. I don't like the price. I don’t really like it. If you’re looking for a good DIPA please do yourself a favor and try something else, at this point I would rather drink a fine malt liquor=old english?

Great IPA. Darker color. Great aroma. Not overwhelmingly bitter.

This is what a double IPA should taste like. I have no idea why these ratings are not higher. This beer is awesome!

BOTTLE: Brown glass. Unbranded grey pry-off pressure cap. Elaborate label design. 650ml.
Reviewed live as an Imperial IPA. Served cold into a pilsner glass. Expectations are average given the brewery.
103 IBUs.
No bubble show forms as it's poured.
HEAD: ~1 finger wide. Off-white colour. Nice thickness and creaminess. Full enough, with an adequately soft appearance and a nice consistency. Decent complexion. Leaves no lacing as it recedes.
Retention is nice - ~5 minutes.
BODY: Translucent copper of above average vibrance. No yeasty muck or hop sediment is visible.
Appears well-carbonated. A nice looking imperial IPA with no stand-out or unique characteristics.
AROMA: Onion/garlic, floral notes, ripe mango, vague tropical notes, and papaya. Malt profile is primarily pale malts - which is appropriate; there's no pesky cloying caramalt, and the malt sweetness seems generally well paired to the hop bitterness.
No yeast character, alcohol, or off-notes are detectable.
Aromatic intensity is average to above average.
TASTE & TEXTURE: Papaya and mango lend this a tropical fruit core with subsidiary notes of yogurty and floral hops. Mild onion makes an unwelcome appearance. The malt backbone is predictably pale malts. It's unnecessarily oily, with a coating feel on the palate and a medium body.
Overcarbonated. Smooth, wet, and adequately hefty and weighty on the palate.
It's a shallow simple imperial IPA with no real subtlety or nuance of note. The balance isn't great, and the malts don't seem well paired to the hops.
The hop profile is odd at best. Where's the fresh citrus and zest from the Citra hops?
OVERALL: A strangely constructed imperial IPA with a fundamentally lacking hop profile. There's no harmony of texture to taste; this mouthfeel doesn't elevate the beer as a whole. Neither gestalt nor interesting. I'll finish it with some effort. A pedestrian underwhelming effort from Infamous. I wouldn't get it again or recommend it to friends. Rather unremarkable.
