Pours a murky golden color with a 2 finger white, and frothy head. The retention is good. No lacing on the glass. Lots of carbonation bubbles rising in the glass.
The nose is quite funky. That is what I got when I popped the cork. Up close I get a sour, funky fruity aroma. I get a bit of grapes, which makes sense aged in wine barrels. There's also a slight sweet aroma, but the funky and sour are king.
Taste - light, dough flavor. Not much funk or sour. Just a slight tartness on the backside. Slight red wine flavor from the barrel.
The body is decent. Somewhat "dry". Nice feel on my palate of the carbonation.
This is a delicious beer. Really tasty, and just the right ABV in my book.

Bottled says 2016. Tried in 2023. Not much carbonation at all. Very chemically taste. Not super enthused with this one. I believe it probably was good earlier but suspect the 7 years is too much aging?

2017 (3 yr old) bottle courtesy of Jasonja1474.
Hazy light orange. Fluffy white head.
Bretty farm funk medicinal nose.
Brett, berry, citrus, Astringent taste.
Fairly thin and dry.
Overall: pretty good, but a little thin and lacking in balance and complexity.

2017 vintage

Pours hazy amber yellow gold with a receding frothy white foam head. Smells like pale bready malts, vanilla, oak barrel, dry tannic red wine notes, hints of leather, farmhouse funk, touch of banana, apple, lemon, apricot, grape, hay, straw, peppery clove spice, with some floral earthy hops. Tastes real nicely balanced with fruity esters, wine barrel, brett funk, and farmhouse saison qualities, displaying a refined elegance with notes of dry red wine, tannic oak barrel, slight hint of leather, red berries, lemony citrus, grape, apricot, banana, apple, peppercorn clove spice, some farmhouse funk, hay, straw, vanilla, pale bready malts, and some earthy floral hops. Feels medium-lighter bodied, creamy with smooth moderate carbonation. Overall a really nice brett saison aged in red wine barrels.

Murly, amber color poured into a Teku. Smell is all Brett, as is the taste. Just the right amount of carbonation in the mouth and glass. I was prepared for a gusher, but this one aged well. Solid Saison.

This is an aged Saison, and at least four to five months old since the bottle says 2017 on it. Very excited. This is my first of Blackberry Farm.

L- Pours a light straw colored beer with a slight burnt orange tint to it. Quarter to half fingered head that's frothy at first and dissipates quickly.
S-Brett, wine, slight grape, yeast, pickle, sourdough bread, and spice. Very nice, well crafted aroma.
T- This beer has a yeasty, bitter, phenolic, spicy, slight brett/pickle flavor. I do get some nice wine flavor as well, but I have to search for it. It is a bit under toned though.
F- Dry and very nice.
O- Extremely well crafted saison. I loved every second of this beer while drinking it. Solid and pleasant notes of brett make for a delicious minimal and spicy farmhouse. Well done. I do wish there was more pop to the flavor, though. Don't get me wrong, this beer is great, it's just lacking pop.

Oh disaster here in the brett being way too powerful, especially in the taste. Has a burning alcohol and diaper afertaste. Too bad because the brett saison before the finish is good, with flowers, red wine barrel influences, barnyard funk, and grape must. Smell is lots of brett and vinous influences with wood and belgian yeast. Just too much brett, feel had a burn to it as well

L: Poured from a bottle to a tulip glass. Had a dark orange-yellow color and a cloudy consistency. There was an inch of foamy, somewhat long-lasting head. Not much lacing here.

S: A decent enough aroma of light fruit, Brettanomyces, red wine, and some yeast.

T: Tasted of a moderate amount of Belgian-style yeast, a fair amount of the advertised Brettanomyces, some citrus fruit (orange?), a bit of barnyard funk, a tinge of the red wine, and a little pepper. I didn't get much of the red wine, but there was enough going on to make the flavor interesting. Not bad.

F: A well-carbonated beer with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

O: This beer doesn't necessarily set itself apart from other saisons, it's still pretty tasty. Drinkable.
