Notes / Commercial Description:
Inspired by classic Old World farmhouse ales, Boundary Tree was crafted with a base of Pilsner and Dark malts for a burnished golden color, and brewed with Hallertau Blanc and Citra hops for a balanced bitterness with hints of citrus. Fermentation with our Classic Saison yeast strain, along with additional conditioning in the bottle, give it a crisp effervescence and dry finish that are characteristic of the Saison style.

100% bottle refermented. Unfiltered. Store bottle upright at cellar temperature. Serve at 45F-55F.

Pours a hazed dark amber, rocky offwhite head settles in a minute to a half inch cap, rings of thick lace stick. Smell: peppery and mildly grassy, caramel, cereal grains, sharp citrus and unripe mango notes. Taste: dried papaya, orange, apricot jam; big peppery pop cuts through with mild spicy and grassy components following; sweet bready backdrop, with some sharp citrus rind and spicy and powdery notes in the finish. Pillowy feel, medium-plus bodied, oily and semi-sticky finish. Very well done and the best of the hop-forward saisons from BFB.

Pours into my Hennepin stemmed glass a burnt orange infused medium golden with a large blooming white head that settles ever so slowly into a frothy mass leaving two broken rings of lace behind as it settles,a great pour.Mild funk and some cork stand out most in the nose to me,slightly smoky yeast esters coming thru as well wich is a bit different.Dry upfront on the palate with light spiced phenols, spiced pears and as others have notes white grapes,a decent sweetness in the finish.A nice drinking saison, not a world beater but decent flavor complexities and a great pour.

Hazy golden color with huge, frothy off-white head. Aroma has toasted malts, yeast and light fermented fruit notes. Taste has bready malts and yeast, some earthy hop bitterness on the finish. Medium body with medium plus carbonation. Quite smooth for a saison.

On tap at Brewhouse Gallery. Deep orange body. Smells of grapes, sharp bubblegum yeastiness, herbs, and a little bready malt. Tastes of equal portions hop and yeast influences. A little bit of grape, green grass, and faint citrus. Bubble gum yeast and earthy, grassy flavors. Bitter finish from both hops and yeast. Medium body. Not my favorite BBF beer, but it's ok.

Pours an effervescent amber with a pinky of pearl white head. Minimal head retention & lacing

S: Pears, grassyness, appleskins once warm

T: Follows the nose, some white grape & mushroom up front, plus dryness. Woody & earthy bitternesss, green appleskins & more dryness as this warms. Finishes pretty dry with pear & white grape, slight peppery hoppyness & little dirt

MF: Medium body, pretty lively carbonation

Pretty good Saison, on the dry side

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a ligthly hazy orange amber with a two finger off-white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of grainy malt, apple, light citrus, hints of hay and caramel. Flavor is husky grainy malt, hay, apple, pepper, grassy hops, hint of lemon. Finishes with pepper and grassy hops. Medium bodied with sharp carbonation. The Hallertau hops blend well well with the grainy malt to create a great rustic feel to this farmhouse ale. Nice spicy body with light fruit notes, mosty a hay/dried field plant body, which seems perfect for the style. The Citra hops are not as clear in the flavor with only a light lemony flavor in the background. One of the few hopped versions of this style I've had, and although I think I like the unhopped ones a little better, I think the continental hops seem to fit this quite well. Another interesting, flavorful farmhouse style ale from Blackberry Farm. I'm impressed by this brewery.

Cloudy dark amber color. Huge three pour head which leaves a lattice of lace.

I detect cinnamon, nutmeg and other bark-like touches to the nose. Light sourness.

The taste is only slightly sour. I get far more aforementioned spice than anything else. There's also some cream and raspberry -- overall, very complex. Full bodied with ample carbonation. The hop component is strongest in the swallow with a lengthy aftertaste following.

A beer of old world charm meets new advancements in hops for a raw and rustic soul but a radiant and vibrant attitude.

Boundary Tree erases all boundaries as its deep golden, light amber pour unleashes a host of tangerine aromas from Citra hops and then a backdrop of lemon and wine from Hallertau Blanc. An added perfume of fruit and spice waft about the senses while the taste starts toasty with bread crust, soft with cashew and with a sweetness of light honey and steely caramel.

As the aromas translate to taste, the middle palate shows a fading sweetness and an enhanced ballet of fruit and spice. Lemon, orange, pear, peach and red berries intertwine with the spice of peppercorn, clove, light cumin and vinous white wine spice. Its bitterness is stern and balanced with a spicy, grassy, herbal finish that's redolent with mint and chive.

Medium light on the palate, the farmhouse ale applies a racy carbonation for lightness and facilitated dryness. An excited peppery bite highlights the beer's earthy flavors while the hops are smooth and piquant. A medium length aftertaste trails with fruit peels and earthen spice.

Poured into a tulip. A hazy golden-amber color with a gigantic off-white head. The nose had bready malt mixed with orange, tangerine, grass, and hay. The citrus shined on the palate. There was plenty of bread, herbal notes, and funk to keep it interesting. Lively carbonation on the palate. Medium-bodied. An outstanding Saison.
