From a 750mL into a snifter.

A- Cloudy straw-color with a thin and wispy head. Lace settles over the body. 4.25

S- It smells like a margarita. Salty and lime-like in a pronounced way. 4

T- It tastes like a margarita lite, but of the quality variety, meaning a real lime flavor with a heavily-salted rim. Tequila is up front and leads me to think I'm going to get a blast of boozy heat, but none comes. 4

M- Light and easy-drinking with a potent salinity. There's a touch of solvent tequila feel but it's fleeting. 4

Poured from 750 mL bottle into a hefeweizen glass

A: Fizzy white head quickly dissipates, leaving one with the straw yellow color. The beer is slightly hazy, though still translucent.

S: A bit salty and sour lemon.

T: Fizzy, salty taste at the front with a big malted wheat finish (I think it is this opposition of flavor that makes a good gose). The tequila barrel is present in the after taste, a smooth oak/tequila flavor that balances well with the salty wheat.

M: Medium effervescence with a body that makes its presences known and welcome. A good bit of bubbles on the finish.

O: This beer is very much to style and a fantastic beer overall. The tequila flavor makes its presence known but is never overpowering. A salty tequila flavor lingers between sips. Would drink again.

750ml bottle, Tequila barrel aged.

Pours pale yellow with a half inch head of quickly dissolving white. A partial skim coat with a few errant dots of lacing for the duration of the glass.

Aromatics lead off with hints of citrus and tequila. Lemons and coriander with a hint of booze.

Light bodied with a crisp, dry mouthfeel.

Lemony and bone-dry on the palate. Faintly salty with a trace of the Tequila barrel.

Finishes tart, dry and lemony.

Tasty beer but the Tequila barrel treatment is pretty faint and would probably not be detectable if not told so.

tequila barrel aged bottle. not sure if uror is always barrel aged, but this drink was, and it was lovely. pale pale blonde very light colored beer, radiant though, crystal clear and holding a nice inch of rising white head. the nose is more gose than barrel, which i think keeps it honest. its tart, but not really lacto heavy, not acidic, not sour. the salt and the tequila barrel go well together, which was obviously the idea for this beer, its a match made in heaven, with just enough of that sharp agave profile grabbing the salt. the beer is so light, easy drinking and all, that its almost amazing that it can have so much flavor going on. you would think it would need a bigger base, but it does just fine as it is. the barrel character is impressive. seemingly done with decently quality tequila too, its not harsh or chemically. id like to see the beer just a little more sour, maybe some lactic fermentation rather than simply a sour mash. the acidity would help it stick i think. light body, great carbonation, long and interesting finish. i think this is a tweak or two away from being epic, but i think they accomplished their mission with it. maybe not worth the nearly 20 bucks i dropped on it, but i am glad to have tried this one of a kind brew.
