Pours a clear pale straw color with a bright white head that quickly falls into a thin lace. Nose is detectable the moment you begin to pour with notes of adjunct grains and cooked corn. The beer is so light in body that I wouldn’t have known I was drinking anything were it not for the overly sweet taste of corn syrup followed by dry grain husks. I’ll pass on another one of these.

12 oz brown bottle, capped, no date.

This beer poured a clear, yellow color with good carbonation and white foam that settled but left some lace. The smell was a slightly sweet, malty aroma with hints of grain and floral hops. The taste was malty (slightly sweet) with a touch of grain (corn?) and a very nice floral hop flavor. The hop bitterness was very low, though there was a touch of hop bitterness in the finish. There were hints of a medicinal taste, but overall the flavor was dominated by the flowery taste. The mouthfeel was smooth and fairly clean with medium body and moderate carbonation feel. This is a decent lager and pairs very well with spicy Southeast Asian meals.

Had to fly to Ho Chi Min City to get a bottle of this. Took two days of mostly flying, but I figured this beer was worth it. Afterall, this beer must be amazing, if the US went to war for the better part of a decade just to ensure it's continued production. After airfare, and missed work, I only had enough money to buy one bottle though, doh! Poured a solid strong yellow with a foamy white head. Smells of jungles, land mines, and rice paddies, or more literally, sweet adjuncty-malt with a strong, pungeant hop background. Definite rice-malt sweetness (and mellowness), followed by sharp, metallic (old M-16 ammo?), acrid hops. Finish is biscuity with lingering "hops." Ehhh... I'm starting to think the trip wasn't worth it... This is tastier than you standard american pale lager, but not my cup of tea--er--beer.

Very pale yellow color. Small head. Aroma is slightly malty. Tastes like a non-skunky Euro-lager, or a less rice and wood chips bud. Crisp and clean, but not a lot of flavor. It is at least beer-like, and is without a whole lot of that corn and/or rice adjunct taste so popular with this style. It's also NOT skunky. THANK YOU! Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is neutral.

Bought locally (Grapevine refrigerated shelves), a few days in my fridge, reviewed 45F-55F.

Hue has a big, crusty white head that leaves decent foamy lacing. Huge caverns pop open in the head as it dies. The beer is a clear gold.

There's a little lagerfonk in the nose and some grains. The front is lagery, the middle a little sourish, a little watery. The finish isn't bad: bitter, grainy. There's some strange metal in the aftertaste and a nutty graininess. This isn't hideous.

Slightly hazy light golden color with a small snow-white head that retains fairly well, fair lace, slight carbonation. Aroma of cooked vegetables and a little hops. Taste begins with smooth carbonation; some slightly tart maltiness that fades to the finish and a late punch of mild hops that lingers a bit past the end of the taste. The mouth feel was rather watery. Overall, a mediocre novelty.

Nice light lager. Something a (very) little different, but no more special than your "premium" American standard lagers. Not a complex beer, but good for cooling off on a hot day; it beats Bud I guess. Probably got better marks from me for sentimental reasons (Dad got wounded in Hue).

Another crappy Vietnamese beer. This was no better than the "33". Unappealing golden color with alka-seltzer fizzyness. No real aroma. Horrid flavor that manages to produce a passable hops presence here and there, but it's not worth wading through the rest of the beer for it.
