It's a small place - after all, it is a gas station. But the selection of craft beer is amazing, and the guys who work there seem to know their stuff. Don't be fooled by the macro in the cooler doors, go into the cooler and look around. You'll be pleasantly surprised. They also hold stuff back for later releases, follow them on social media or just be a regular customer to be in on the good stuff.

Jeff's Marathon is my go to place for craft beer. On the west side, or really anywhere in Cincinnati -when I want to try something different and new I go see my man Dave and the entire crew at Jeff's. They NEVER disappoint!

A great place to stop when I'm visiting relatives. They stock a good amount and get some rare gems.

For a unassuming gas station it's the best shop I have found in the area and one of the better shops in the city. I almost didn't want to review it to keep as my unpicked over secret! Everytime I am there the selection improves. They get some limited release stuff. I picked up Founders Doom, some FFF stuff. They do have a singles selection but it's limited. I personally have not found much from it. The service is good. All are friendly and few know their stuff. Light struck!? Far from it. If anything I love the fact that that a lot, especially hoppy beers, are in the cooler.
P.S. It shows up on your credit card as a gas station. ;)

Re-reviewed and scored because the selection has improved. Initial review 6/13

This Marathon gas station is definitely a diamond in the rough that is the West Side of Cincinnati. While craft beer availability on this side of town has been picking up rapidly over the past year, Jeff's has been way ahead of the curve with their selection, one that I would say is the best on the West Side.

The store has a great selection of bombers, singles, and six-packs (the majority of which are cold) and has become my go-to location. Dave, the owner, is more than happy to bring in beers that you request and he doesn't currently carry.

I'm not sure what another reviewer has mentioned about concerns around "light-struck beers" as I've never had a beer that tasted off, and I've bought plenty of bombers from that front display.

In summary: Best location on the West Side of Cincinnati for craft beer, no question.

I've been going to Jeff's for over a year now. The staff is always extremely helpful, as a matter of fact they always seem extremely happy to see anyone interested in craft beer. I rate this place so high because where I live there is no where else within a half hour from home that continuously has a selection of that magnitude. Another plus is he keeps an extensive selection of craft beer cold if you just need a couple six packs on the way to your party. I would recommend this place to anyone if your driving by just stop in and check out their selection, you wont be disappointed.

This place is fantastic. It's unassuming, great selection, good prices and an awesome staff
It's a convenient store with a unbelievable selection and is my go to bottle shop.
Three Floyd's, bells, founders, rare releases like hop juju abd a good local selection.
You're just hurting yourself by not checking it out. I recommend this to all my customers.
Awesome place

I'm not sure why it took me so long to actually right a review of this place, as it has been my go to for a few years now...oh well, here goes...

Amazing selection of beer: Fat Heads, 3Floyds, Bell's, The Brew Kettle, Founders (even some of their limited release stuff), Stone, Dark Horse, Clown Shoes, Upland...just to name a few.

Always good pricing.

If you are on the west side of Cincinnati, you should definitely check this place out.

June 2021 edit: No longer Jeff's. Under new ownership. They don't appear to care about the beer inventory. Beer cave was a wreck the last time I stopped in. Updated my scoring to reflect this.

Jeff Reid does a pretty good job of locating and stocking quite a few local, regional, and national craft beers. Don't buy the single bottles off the shelf/display area. I fear these may get light-struck. They keep a pretty good selection of bottled/canned crafts in the beer cave. Yes, it's a Marathon gas station/convenience store, but if you're looking for a quick in/out on your way home to the west-side, this is a good place to stop.
