Notes: Orderville is a hazy IPA that blends the fruit-forward character of Mosaic & Denali hops with the resinous stickiness found in a mélange of dank varieties. The resulting beer is immensely rad, with an unmistakably bangin' aroma and a fully saturated hop flavor and finish. The juicy body provides a base-layer upon which the massive, incredibly unmistakably delicious hop character is built, inviting your taste buds to join a drum circle of flavor in a magical forest of hops.75 IBU

Pours a murky golden color. While it's not incredibly turbid, by no means is it clear. The head is about a finger high and white in shade.

This smells so dank, if it were a meme, then Peter Griffin would have to explain it to me (look up Peter Griffin explaining memes if you don't get it!) Make no mistake - this is very grassy and herbal. Yeah...herbal. On the other hand, it's also really oniony. And for me, it's a detracting quality. Letting it open up will reveal some tropical fruits and citrus notes. The aroma in general incredibly weedy yet multifaceted, I just wish there wasn't such a strong onion note.

The flavor profile offers a few different dimensions. It opens up dank (as expected), with some subtle touches of stone fruit, pine, and grass. Simcoe comes through well - even better, it comes through without any catty qualities. A backbone of pale malt and wheat come through in the middle to offer a nice balance without being smothering. It finishes with slight hints of orange and tangerine. It isn't infinitely deep at the end of the day, but IPAs don't really need to be. It's just an incredibly satisfying and tasty (and dank) IPA.

Oats really help the mouthfeel out. I could have imagined this being fairly sharp and angular in texture, so to have oats smooth out the body is really welcoming. This isn't as creamy as some "hazy" IPAs, but it isn't chalky or yeasty, either. Carbonation is soft yet moderately assertive.

Those who like intensely dank, grassy IPAs are really going to like this. It takes aspects from both the old school and the new school, and wraps them up into one damn fine example of the style. This is definitely worth checking out, that's for damn sure.

3.9/5: One order of juicy dankness, coming up!

22oz bottle from Whole Foods in Hillcrest, no bottle date I can find. More yellow than orange color, good head. Aroma is hoppy, good but not notable. Flavor definitely has Mosaic and the bottle refers to a "cracker like body" that is about spot on describing the malt. Good beer but not a repeat purchase.

Mosaic bomb. Very good ipa, probably falling just short of world class. One of the better mosaic forward ipas ive had, but not quite as good as St Archers for example... I guess the best way I can label this beer; a mosaic ipa well above average.

Two month old can poured into an Spigleau IPA glass. Gorgeous orange-gold body with a chill haze, deep opaqueness, and an enormous, fluffy white head that held up well to the first half glass worth of sips, leaving a soapy film on the top of the beer and down the glass the rest of the way.

Smell is pleasant and inviting but quite mild. Grassy, bready, and a little soapy initially, then the sweet citrus fruit pokes through. Lemon, lime, tangerine, and just a hit of grapefruit. Again, very subdued.

Taste is much brighter and more interesting. Though still mild compared to most of today’s coastal IPAs, it has a perfect subtle sweetness that makes it great. Combination malty and citrus sweetness up front, with just a hint of sugar, that lasts through the entire sip. Lots of ripe orange. Grapefruit pith and citrus bitterness appears mid-sip, with some lemongrass and pine resin lingering on the fringes. The malty sweetness re-emerges to see the sip through. I dig a little sweetness in my hoppy beers, so I’m loving it even if the beer isn’t overly complex.

Feel is very, very soft and pillowy. Very smooth, nicely carbonated, and coating but not sticky. Absolutely luscious mouthfeel.

On tap at Ale Arsenal. Very refreshing, perfect feel for an IPA. Just the right amount of bitterness to balance the malt and the multitude of tropical flavors this one has going on. Really nice.
