This pours a pleasing malty caramel with a ruby glow and a creamy cap. Slightly bready, slightly peppery notes with a swirl of earthy hops from a melon field. I get a slight bitterness and a hint of honeydew along with a taste of cracked pepper and a piece of pumpernickel as I sip.
Oddly enough detected a bit of a backing soda note on the finish, the only down note on an otherwise enjoyable brew. Enjoyed six weeks after bottling. Er, canning.

Can to becher pint glass, the appearance was a ruddy burnt dark orange close to amber color with a thin finger's worth of messy white foamy head. Sly messy lace.
The aroma had a nice blend of pine to citrus to sweet rye over top of a nice embrace of caramel/toffee malts.
The flavor was authentic enough taking the prior mentioned aromas stealthily to glide into the aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was a nice blend of the dry grip to a sly smoothness of the malts. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, a bit darker in color for a rye beer, but since the aromas and flavor compensated nicely across the board, I can see it as one and would welcome this again.

Clear dark golden pour with a big white head. Somewhat light aroma with hints of rye, pine and bread. Taste is resiny and piney upfront with a moderate bitterness and nice rye spice flavor. Light to medium bodied. Finishes dry with a fairly long lingering herbal and piney bitterness.

Poured a nice mahogany with a fluffy head that dissipates to a ring around the glass, some lacing. Aromas and flavors are a perfect balance of sweet and spicy rye malt hop flavors: tropical fruits, some dankness, some pine, and a marriage with orange. All of this makes for a drinkable beer which felt perfectly suited to pairing with a lot of different foods; tonight, we had a spicy, creamy chicken tortilla soup.

Love this one. Pours with a relatively dense head that soon drops to almost nothing. The smell hints at pine needles, burnt sugar, orange zest, with a decent hop hit but also mango and lychee at the back. The taste is great and unctuous; it is well balanced with bitter hops jousting well with resins and malts. It leaves a decent 'afterburn' and should be revisited.
