Bomber date 8/23/16 into an IPA glass at fridge temp.
Look: light yellow, ultra-clear, with a nice dense foam head.
Smell: lemon zest, papaya, aloe.
Taste: strong flavor up front, almost chocolate/blueberry. Was expecting bright/citrus, but this is much richer/earthier. Some tropical fruit, grass, light biscuit as well.
Feel: light, super-drinkable. Not at all dry, and a clean finish.
Overall: this is a tasty, drinkable beer. I'm sure it won't get lots of high scores because it isn't extreme in any way, but for the style, it's very very good.

September 10th, 2016 - The first beer for today's special day is the Modern Times Trueland. It's quite pale, and also very transparent, with a subtle wave and warp like hot olive oil in a pan. The aroma is engaging, with a medium dankness and weed note. Not sure if that's coming from the Simcoe or the Amarillo, but it's potent. The body is medium weight, with a huge, dank aftertaste, and ends with a lemon and bergamot finish. Good, but touches of ash in there that distract from the more interesting herbal notes.

Poured from a 22 oz bomber. Decent amount of hoppy bitterness but lacks any malt backbone to counter the hops. Not bad but seems to need a bit more in order to be considered a decent APA

Pours golden and light. A bit hazy, no kidding. Head is frothy and slow to dissipate.
Aroma is dank flowers. Hops and spice. You sure this is a pale? There doesn't seem to be much pale about this but the look. Taste is a citrus piney perfection. Bitter is just a whiff ball but the finish is sticky enough to make you think you grabbed an ipa.
Quite great. Very drinkable. I love Simcoe and the Amarillo goes quite well. Slight creaminess as well. 5.5‰ hits a bit harder than I expected. Maybe it's my empty stomach.
Great pale with lots of taste.

Decent pale ale from a brewery I'm pretty stoked on these days.
Poured very light and clear in to a glass stein. Looks almost like a pilsner. Expected cloudiness so a bit of a surprise.
Doesn't pack a punch by any means, but nice to see two hop strains that dont usually go together, that actually work very well. Big fan of Simcoe for that dank and not a huge fan of Amarillo due to the heavy pine, but Modern Times managed to balance them out nicely. Easy drinking for sure.
Would pick up again for sure. Went down to easy and the hop combo in a light pale was a nice surprise.

From a bomber, pours a mostly clear, light gold. Finger-high white head leaves stands and patches of lacing. Smell is grapefruit pith with grassy, floral notes. Taste is grapefruity with dank, resinous pine. Good, bracing bitterness. Feel is on the lighter side of medium. I really like this beer. Not especially complex, but tons of flavor, especially for the ABV.
