Notes / Commercial Description:
Fruitlands is tart, fruity, and frighteningly delicious. The sour, salty base beer lays down the funky refreshment, while a heavy dose of apricot turns the whole thing into a wall-to-wall stone fruit fiesta. It’s a marvelous mix of elements that collides with your mouth like a fruit-filled asteroid of flavor traveling at the supersonic speed of party.

Pours hazy, dull orange in color, with minimal head. Taste is apricot jam and rind, wheat, and light salt. Light bodied and medium low for salt. Really love this as a fruit beer as the apricots shine, but I like my goses more salty. Another great warm weather beer. I would get this again if I wanted a fruit beer.

On tap at CBC 2016. Pale golden. Notes of citrus and tropical fruit. Crisp and refreshing.

22 oz bottle poured into snifter

A: nice bright yellow light orange color some soap white head that disappears quickly. Body appears to be ver carbonated a little hazy in color but that could be because it is cold.

S: Apricots, lemons, some saline salty quality and a little bit of a wheat grain smell

T: light apricots, a little sourness, lemony, salty light bits of sweetness and a wheat like finish

M: very light brightly carbonated and refreshing

O: Very good beer from a great brewery this is the second of the Fruitlands series I have had and I have liked them both. Beer is bright sour salty and easy to drink.

22oz. capped bottle into a Cigar City snifter. Shared with schen9303.

Apricot is barely detectable in the nose. Sweet with a big malt backbone but otherwise very subtle. Flavor is lightly tart with hints of stonefruit, a light brininess and foam and malt. Decent. Light bodied with ample carbonation. Prickly and very lively in the mouth but a little skunky going down. Soft finish. Quenching but I expect a little more pucker from this one.

I'm not impressed by this. A touch watered down and the apricot presence is all but missing. Decent as a gose but not much more.

Was pretty ambivalent about the original Fruitlands w/ cherries, and the apricot version didn't do much to change my mind. It's not bad at all, but it evokes the same feeling as the cherry version -- this is just a bit too nondescript as a gose, inoffensive, even perhaps approachable, but not really giving the drinker a good hit of what gose is all about. Very light salinity, lightly tart, wheaty cereal shows through, apricots giving it nice light fruitiness, but it all just washes out a bit much. I feel conflicted about scoring this too low, as I appreciate the idea of restraint, and I think stuff like WB Gose and some others can go over the top with the salinity/sour levels, but something about this still needs fine tuning to find that happy medium.
