On draught during one of the Fortnight of the Monsters events. Much like the Coconut variant, I thought this was way too adjunct heavy. Yeah it smelled incredibly but it was so overpowering you got none of the barrel character on the nose or any of the base on the palate. If you like your adjuncts with beer in them, this is for you.

Late 2023 bottle poured at fridge temp. Pours a VERY thick and viscous black. Almost zero head. The nose is vanilla, chocolate, marshmallow, some smooth malts, and mild sweetness.

The taste is amazing. Chocolate, vanilla, super smooth vanilla (and lots of it!), malts, and a slight roasty note. Delicious.

The mouthfeel is out of this world. Super thick and creamy. Mild sweetness on the aftertaste. This is just amazing.

22 oz bomber into a snifter

Another gem from MT. Kinda surprised this doesn’t have a 100 score, because it’s flawless. Rich chocolate cake with marshmallows and boozy vanilla extract poured over. Oaky and dry enough not to be cloying. Decadent as they come.

another stunner in this series, and another epic imperial stout from these guys, incredibly luxurious vanilla on this, true scraped bean character, as authentic as it comes, and yeah its heavily dosed, but the quality is off the charts so it doesnt seem invasive or forced, and the base beer is huge enough to support all this vanilla, i think they nailed it, and it puts a million others in this same space to shame, what a treat! the darkest brown but still just short of black, high shine and insane viscosity, short less than a quarter inch of head not much lighter than the liquid, deep and intense looking. aroma is sweet but not over the top, the vanilla is first by a mile, but there is charred oak and whiskey notes highlighting it, ots of roast of course, i recognize all the usual elements of monsters park, a now iconic brew. some dark chocolate to this, pipe tobacco, and black coffee. the vanilla is so sexy in the flavor and it rides all this thick creamy body for a very long tasting experience, freshly opened pod, like its so real and wet, high saturation, floral and soft for being this bold, like i can tell its an orchid still. one of the most exceptional profiles of vanilla i can recall from any beer ever, top handful anyway, and that really is what defines this, despite the base beer being fantastic and nuanced, and the barrel aspect adding quite a lot. good whiskey, some maple and even chestnut sort of notes in the mix, espresso, light smoke, some bitterness from the roast to balance late, vanilla aftertaste and vanilla burps, so pure and good, and i dont mind that this stays on my palate a long while after its done. really top tier stuff here! we need more modern times in idaho!

8 ball black with a thin tan head. A swirl leaves clear legs on the glass.

Toasty oak and sharp vanilla, like Tahitian, meet a little more heat before it begins to intensely emulate Oreo characteristics.

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head and a little bit of lacing.

This one smells like vanilla cream and frosting, milk chocolate, spicy oak and bourbon, dark chocolate fudge brownies, and caramel.

This is pure decadence, with loads of creamy, rich, and smooth vanilla notes - slightly fruity, slightly caramelly, and pretty cake-like, with some bourbon and molasses, and a rich chocolatey and fudgy feel on the back end.

This is pretty thick, with a very good drinkability.

This is simple - just barrel and excellent vanilla work.

Canned one month ago (Sept. 2021).

Pours near-black with a thin film of tan head.

The nose is dark chocolate syrup, vanilla frosting, root beer, and savory depth. Hints of leather and booze.

The taste is chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon. Medium sweetness and low to medium booze. Rich and decadent yet relatively balanced.

The mouthfeel is medium+ for the style. Opens lightly carbonated and is thicker mid-palate.

Overall, very good. A good blend of chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon.
