Snifter at Bittercreek. I wasnt by this, maybe that will change as it goes down. Pours out like an oil slick, black and flat. Complex aroma: coffee, cinnamon, licorice, vanilla and shoe polish. Taste also is a bit confusing, coconut, coffee, licorice, cough syrup. Definitely a sipper.

Crude-oil sludge, no attempt at a head. Toasted coconut, oak, caramelly bourbon make the nose - boozy hot. Anise-forward palate, traditional barrel-aged flavors. Coconut works to accent the profile but takes a back seat to the caramelly booze and drying oak. Warm, sweet finish.

Super tasty, aging has already smoothed out this one.

Very dark appearance with slight tan head that dissipates quickly. Roma is a mild coffee and malt. Taste is also a mild coffee and malt that is very smooth.

Received in a trade and shared with JLindros. 2018 can.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark brown almost black with a thin mocha head that fades to leave light wisps and a thin blanket with excellent legs.

S - Big aromas of vanilla and light chocolate. The coconut is incredibly subtle to the point of almost being non-existent. As it warms it becomes like brownie batter.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with loads of chocolate brownie batter, flashes of baking spices. The coconut is really old and faded and as it warmed it almost got sweet bbq sauce notes.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, creamy alcohol hidden nicely.

O - Overall this was a rather underwhelming beer. The coconut is really muted and what's there is super mediocre.

Pours a tan smaller foamy head that fades quickly, super thick legs, pitch black inky beer

Nose loads of dark chocolate, cocoa, roasty dark malts, little caramel, baking spices and cookie dough, some vanilla and a bit of coconut but not much, light fruity notes, anise and licorice

Taste alcohol up front, perfumey alcohol, then big rich dark chocolate cocoa, fudge, some caramel, chewy nougat and cookie dough with baking spices and anise licorice, light roasty char and coffee, bitter roasted coffee and little spicy hop, big fudge, vanilla spice, little BBQ saucy and fruity thing

MOuth is thick full fudgey body, light warming alcohol, medium light carb

Overall Sad beer, no coconut, and base beer is meh on top of that

Pours jet black with a fizzy deep brown head that dissipates quickly. Nose is of creamy chocolate, vanilla and coffee. Taste is smooth and beautiful. A mix of creamy chocolate and dry bakers chocolate. Notes of vanilla and brown sugar with smooth tame coffee notes. Early I personally feel the coconut is muted but as this beer warms look out! Notes of toasted coconut are plentiful at warmer temps. Smooth rich body with a sweet bit fairly dry ( bakers chocolate) like finish. Enjoyed this one.
