Solid hazy! It's been a while, but this beer is soft and pillowy but it delivers amazing hop character in the form of herbal, flowery, citrus zest, and funky, danky grass. Medium mouthfeel, higher carbonation, finishes medium-dry. Gains character as it warms. Amazing!

16 oz can from Boise Coop. I had reached a saturation point for hazy IPAs, they started to all blend together. Then there's this. Pour is normal enough, subtle tropical fruity aroma. Taste is extremely subdued, very much so. Then it hits you...this is great stuff. Mellow, soft, bitter and sweet, at all the right levels. Hits the spot for sure. Nelson hops a great choice.

date stamped 10/27/21
L: hazy golden body with a frothy off-white head
S: juicy tropical fruit, citrus, pine, melon, mint
T: mango, orange, grapefruit, lime, nectarine, mint, wheat, grainy malt
F: full body, smooth yet resinous, soft carbonation, bitter finish
O: I got excited about this Nelson hopped beer, but after I got it home I realized it was hopped with Motueka, which is not my favorite. Either way, the beer is everything you’d expect from Modern Times

Appearance: Pours a hazy goldenstraw color with a bubble show that slowly builds to a two fingered head; webby lacing abounds
Smell: Floral with a white wine grape element; a hint of dank pine
Taste: Pleasantly floral, on the front end, with papaya and white wine grape flavors building; low to moderate bitterness, with some dank pine tones, after the swallow; the finish has some sweetness to accompany the bitter flavors
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: A pleasant NE IPA that brings some floral and Antipodean elements to the style

12/18/21 Canned 9/29”BLM”. NEIPA Hazy, Nelson hops. Lemon. Not sweet, not bitter, lacks vibrancy. Thin. Ok but can do better.

Pours a cloudy orange color with a chunky white head. Aromas include grapefruit, orange and an oily hop not. Flavor follows with a nice malt presence in the background to smooth everything out a bit. Slightly resinous on the palate, finishes gently considering the bold flavors. Very nicely done!

Canned 10/20/20. Bought 12/23 for $3 per 16 oz. can. Consumed 1/1/2021. If you like the Nelson hops you will probably like this one. 2 finger head that is relatively persistent and lots of lacing. Smell and taste follow the can description of Nelson hops followed by a couple secondary hops. Nice mouthfeel with low carbonation. This won't be my primary go-to hazy but could play a role when I want something with a "different" flavor profile. I like other hazy IPAs in the same price range better, but mostly as a result of the hop selection.

Pours a beautiful, opaque, golden orange color with a dense, soapy head. Good retention on the head with alot of lacing coating the glass. Delicious aromatics on this, smells of bright tropical fruits, white grape, citrus and some pine.
The taste is reminiscent of the aroma, white grape and citrus forward with soft notes of tropical fruits and some pine. It has a great balance of soft doughy malts and a delicious soft fruity sweetness. Mouthfeel is very soft and smooth with a bit of a crisp, dry finish. Body is medium with moderate carbonation and bitterness.
Space Ways is an all around solid beer. Tasteful, complex and possibly too drinkable. Might be one of my new favorites from Modern Times.

16oz canned 8-31-20. Opened 10-11-20.
3 finger off-white head with amazing retention. Dense foam, fine bead...thing of beauty.
Fully opaque, orange-gold IPA. Well integrated and smooth pour...no sludge. Thick and sticky lacing.
Freshly peeled orange, citrus oils. White grape. Pine needles.
Glazed pound cake. Very appealing nose.
Runs the gamut of hop flavors - tropical, zesty citrus, stone fruit, white grape, and pine.
It's all here in a tasty flavor packed combo.
Full body, soft mouthfeel and low-medium carbonation.
Nice punch of early bitterness in a hop-full barely off-dry finish.
Another winner from Modern Times.
Outstanding.

16oz can, dated 08.17.2020, poured into a stemless wine glass.
The beer pours a hazy and turbid orange color, golden and amber hues with a nice foamy white head, decent height and retention with great lacing. The aroma is nice, bright and fragrant Nelson hops, white grape and soft stone fruits, citrus, wildflower, pine, grassiness and a nice spice with pale dough and sweet yeast. The flavors are good, more doughy and malty than initially expected, sweet yeast and wildflower with a nice pillowy fruitiness, light stone fruits, white grape, orange citrus with moderate earthiness, somewhat dank and weedy with that characteristic Nelson spice bite. The mouthfeel is good, coating, lively heavier medium body that finishes easily with a soft dry kick.
Verdict: A nice NEIPA from Modern Times. The Nelson is expressed well and is certainly the focal point of the beer. It's a bit sweet, as can happen with the style but the balance is nice and it's very sessionable.
