Very Good
Star JungleStar Jungle
Notes: We brewed this delightfully hoppy pils with generous amounts of precious Nelson Sauvin & Mosaic hops over a delicate & restrained malt backbone. The result is a seriously magical adult beverage that’s both silly-crushable and bursting with beautiful aromas of blueberry, mango, white grape, and lychee underscored by just a hint of malt sweetness. It’s a sunlit, bucolic meadow in liquid form, and your taste-buds are free to frolic.

Canned roughly a month ago.
Looks like a light Pilsner.
Smells of some vinous grape and berry flavors. Tropical fruits and just a tiny bit of cat pee or dankness?
Taste is same. Not intolerable but somehow the mosaic, Nelson, malt combo makes an odd taste.
It’s a great concept and with a slightly different hop profile might indeed be super good.

Can poured into a Modern Times Beer glass

A: Pours slightly hazy golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and leaves a little spotty lacing.

S: Dank herbal notes, slightly spicy, citrus, tropical and stone fruit, some berries, crackery and kinda bready malt, and a touch of sweetness.

T: Slight dank herbal notes, all kinds of fruity, blueberry, papaya, tangerine, lemon, lime, apricot, lychee, and strawberry, grassy, faint spice, slightly toasty crackery malt, and just a little caramel sweetness.

M: A touch on the fuller side of medium body, moderate carbonation.

O: A little too heavy to really call it a pils. More like an IPL. I was intrigued by the hop combo, but for some reason it's not popping like I hoped it would. A rare MT miss.

16oz canned 1-13-20. Opened 2-28-20.
1 1/4" fluffy white head with very good staying power, slowly falls to 1/2" and holds there with fresh, sticky lacing in it's wake. Pale golden pilsner, started the pour clear and the last 1oz hazed it up and gave it the unfiltered look. Good looking beer with a wall of lacing on the way down.
Getting the strong Nelson white grape character in the nose, the pilsner malt starts to show about halfway through and really makes this an appealing aroma.
Zesty, herbal, white grape, berry, citrus over a light bread dough / cracker malt.
Light body, not quite crisp (almost) with a medium level of carbonation.
Very good, definitely done in a way that makes me want more.

Wow. This is a wild one - and a bit weird, too. Kind of like the leader of the party bus me and my friend’s took in San Francisco 2005 for a pals birthday, yeah, the one who moonlit as a freaky porn star, it’s damn wild and full of spunk. It’s pretty darn hazy like your ceramics teacher after a puff of kush, while it has a very nice Pils/malt/slight fruity aroma. Taste is like a donkey kick to your groin (in a good way, if that’s possible). Again, it’s just so different and wild! The malty Pils flavor is there along with a crispy citrus back bone. Yeah, like a gorilla on vacay, I’m into it!

Canned 14 Jan, purchased at ABV.

Poured carefully, this is a clear light orange with a dense white head with excellent retention and lacing. The nose is unconventional for the style, with notes of kiwi, lychee , a little blueberry and a touch of nightshade. A blend of grain and a light oatmeal note. The palate opens mildly bitter with a nice blend of kiwi, lychee,a little strawberry. There's an interesting sweetness present, though unconventional. Light in body, a little creamy, a little sweet. Intriguing.

Was all in on this one as soon as I saw it making its way through the social media stratosphere. Their website said, “We brewed this delightfully hoppy pils with generous amounts of precious Nelson Sauvin & Mosaic hops over a delicate & restrained malt backbone. The result is a seriously magical adult beverage that’s both silly-crushable and bursting with beautiful aromas of blueberry, mango, white grape, and lychee underscored by just a hint of malt sweetness. It’s a sunlit, bucolic meadow in liquid form, and your taste-buds are free to frolic.” Hoppy pilsner brewed with Nelson and Mosaic? Oh yeah.

Poured a medium yellow semi-clear color with 5-to-6 fingers of rocky white head, gently overflowing over the rims of the glass. Lots of fast moving bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. World-class uneven foamy lacing. Perfect retention. (Sight - 4.75)

Smelled a nice mix of hops and pilsner malt. In order got Nelson, herbal, white grape, pilsner malt, Mosaic, ripe mango, pine, viney berry and lingering earthy malt. A little sharper out of the can with Nelson still leading the way. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted a little better than the nose. In order got Nelson, white grape, herbal, viney berry, ripe mango, Mosaic, pine, stone fruit, hay and citrus zest. (Taste - 4.25)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, dry finish. (Feel - 4.00)

I so wanted this to be Timbo Pils by Highland Park, but that beer is tough to replicate. This is still excellent. (Overall - 4.25)

16 oz can from Brewers Haven. Brightbgolden pour, light haze, foamy head, lively carbonation. Bready, grainy aroma, notes of lemon. Taste mirrors the aroma, with the lemon a bit more prominent. Gentle hoppy bite, fruity

Nearly clear yellow brew with plenty of foam in the St. Bernardus globe. Sudsy mouthfeel with plenty of prickly carbonation. Expansive aroma of ripe honeydew, fresh apple cider, and a whiff of green pepper. Here's yet another beer with a dose of Mosaic, the seemingly indispensable hop for fruit flavor. There is even an interesting funky note, like grapes, fermenting pineapple.

Modern Times seems to be on a roll with their hopped-up Pilsners, like the Ice foeder aged and hop variations. They call this one a "Hazy Pilsner," but you could also call it an "India Pale Lager." From the 16 oz can in the four-pack. I got the first batch at the brewery but got another one at the local liquor store before it disappears. Canned on Christmas Eve 2019.

Overall a tasty Bohemian Pilsner. Packaged on date 01/14/2020.
