The first thing I thought after I opened the can was, “This smells like Guinness.” And it does, with maybe a bit more heft from cocoa notes, but I think it’s the yeast, because the aromas are all about Guinness, IMHO.

But before the nose, we have the eyes. This pours a dark milk chocolate, with a tan head that is reminiscent of Guinness, but not as creamy.

The taste has all the cocoa flavors, plus a sweetness that provides more body to the beer. The feel is creamy, which is welcome in a 5.8% ABV beer. Just a pleasure to drink.

Look: Black with a tan brown head, soft bubbles,
Smell: Coffee, chocolate, roast
Taste: Much sweeter than the smell, more like a milk chocolate that is offset by a mild coffee bitterness
Feel: Mild, small carbonation, silk going down, smooth. Some hopiness.
Overall: a good, as the can implies, robust porter. Would not hesitate to get another one but also probably won't seek it out either

This got thrown in as an extra on one of my Midwest/Wisconsin trades from a year or two ago. I enjoyed it.

Pours black, but not an overly viscous or thick imperial stout type of heft. Has a light brown head on the top, 1/3". Aroma was almost all roast and a little bit of a molasses underbelly. Mostly heavily roasted malt though.

Taste, hoppiness went big on the Cascades I believe. Bitterness over 60ibu. Heavily roasted malt still there, but alcohol stays in check, not overly thick or bitter, but a plenty punchy bit of a porter. Has that dark bread left in the oven for about 5-10 minutes beyond its recipe. Tad of unsweetened cola and toffee to it. Carbonation was probably in the above average range. Thought it was a good porter in a can, nice for a fall day on the golf course.

Appearance: Arrives cola colored with a dark tan head that leaves some spots of lacing around the glass

Smell: Roasty tones of cocoa, fig, prune and cola nut

Taste: Chocolate and dark fruit forward with fig and prune tones; earthy hop tones develop, in the middle, with some roasty bitterness in the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A decent porter with some interesting fruit tones

I got a 6pck of panther from beer store around the corner. It an opaque dark with thin white head with no lace. The scent had some roast. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall a solid porter.
