This is a great offering by Rhinegeist, and I would say even more enjoyable than their Truth for a citrus/mango seeking IPA fan like myself. It's not too potent at 6% even and goes down very easy. It pours a large head, and the smell consists of mango and lemon. The taste is more balanced, as it is hoppy but there is some malt to back it up, although it finishes quite bitter. This is on the lighter side and is closer to a session beer than Truth. This is worth seeking out and is not a bad deal at $6.99/bomber.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 5/24/2017. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden amber/light orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berries, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, pine, honey, spicy rye, lightly toasted bread, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready/rye malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berries, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, pine, honey, spicy rye, lightly toasted bread, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berries, lemon/orange rind, pepper, pine, honey, spicy rye, white bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready/rye malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance. Slightly increasing resin/rind astringency through the glass, but not overwhelming. Moderate dryness from lingering bitterness, quickly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6%. Overall this is a great rye IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready/rye malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink; despite the increasing bitter/resinous/drying finish. Very dank and vibrant hops, with nice solid malt backbone. Nice rye presence without going overboard. The Citra/Mosaic hops work extremely well with the spicy characteristic of the rye malt. A very enjoyable offering.

I'm glad this one made it to 12 ounce cans so I can enjoy it a little more regularly. It pours To a Amber gold body and hosts a biscuity tan inch of fluffy, rocky head. The head has very solid retention. Nose is super hoppy and represents the rye spice well. The taste is very vibrant with flavors, including sharp fruit, dry hops and wonderful rye spiciness. It's crazy how an IPA can be both juicy and dry all at the same time this is a very solid IPA Rye or otherwise.

Pours copper in color. Aroma is fruity and citrusy without the whallop of hops that I'm used to. It's flavor matches with a citrusy hop overtone with some pepper. Maybe its the rye coming off as a pepper note. Malts are present in the flavor, and it has a soft mouthfeel, specifically in its finish. The hops are present in it's flavor, but not nearly as profound as I had expected them to be. The beer overall is fairly mild tasting for a beer of it's style.

Where the desire for the most extreme fruit aromas, and a smooth bitterness, and crisp dry body is pursued, its usually something far short of this goal that most ales eventually find.

But its the bright but slightly hazed copper glow of Streaker that defies the barriers and charges in with tangy fruit aromatics. Tangerine, red grapefruit, mango and pineapple all frame the succulent nose while sweet caramelized grain, cashew and toasted biscotti frame the initial sweetness.

It's drying middle reveals a heightened hop tilt with red grapefruit, tangerine, nectarine and mango playing a sultry fruitiness that trends herbal and acidic late. but with the zip of rye, the peppery spice, bitter husk and raw grain play a soft taste of wheat except with the grit of peppercorn and toast.

Then to finish, the ultra-dry, ultra-crisp texture leads to this medium-light beer to be delicately honey-like and with peps of grain and grit. What trails is an acute pine bitterness and a moderate spiced balance of spruce tips.

22 ounce bottle, no date on the bottle/label that I was able to find. Served in a DFH IPA glass, the beer pours a slightly hazy dark gold/orange color with a couple inch frothy off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both very good. The brew smells like citrusy (mango, grapefruit, melon) hops, bready/grainy malt and a bit of peppery spice. I think the taste is pretty much the same as the aroma, but there's also some piney hops noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's creamy, coating and easy enough to drink. I liked this brew, I might have to pick up another bottle this weekend! $6.99 a bomber.

On-tap 7/31/2016 at Natty Greene’s Tavern in North Attleboro, MA, served in a tulip glass.

A: The beer is a deep amber color, with a large dense off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a very thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is faint but contains caramelized rye malts, citrus, earthy hops and some spice.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of caramel and citrus. Then some breadiness comes in from a hearty rye malt character. The hops presence is mild for the style but brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly bready.

M: Crisp and very smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, decent kick, good representation of style, this is a solid beer to drink for a while.

32oz growler filled at Red, Wine & Brew in Chesterland, Ohio

Growler poured into a tulip. Pours golden with a subtle haze and has some clarity; small white head that fades leaving solid bubbly retention and okay lacing. The aromas have a nice blend of citrus and tropical notes. Peach and mango is there with some hints of grapefruit and orange. Malts are there but the hop aromas shine. The flavors are juicy. It's slightly sweet, but nothing crazy or over the top. It's not that bitter. More peach and mango. Some orange juice in the mix. Lots of orange in the finish. The citra comes through in the flavor department. I'm not picking up much rye, but the rye malt is definitely there. There's a subtle spiciness in the finish. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is light and thin with active carbonation. Very smooth and easy to drink.

This is a nice IPA. It's juicy and refreshing. I personally like this one more than Truth, which is the only other Rhinegeist brew that I've had to date.

Aroma is dominated by spicy, peppery rye initially. Sharp citrus notes of grapefruit, dank cannabis are accented by tropical pineapple and mango.

Flavor reveals an underlying rye character throughout. Hop flavoring is watered down, in comparison to the aroma. Lacks the sharpness promised. Still fairly complex, with a peppery, lightly bitter finish. Toasted malt lingers.
