There seems to be some confusion at the bar where I'm drinking this. Labeled "Juicy Tooth" and "Fruit infused Saber Tooth Tiger" im ultimately perplexed as to what beer-varient it is I'm enjoying.

A bit thin, lacking in texture and thickness that I like in my DIPAs; but still very forward in flavor with a lovely aftertaste that lasts far longer than most. Thanks mystery beer!

As a tidal wave of various fruit wash over the already formidable Truth IPA, the brewers at Rhinegeist have clearly given their brewery keys to the harvesters of local orchards.

Juicy Truth pours with a slightly cranberry stained version of the common hazy golden elixir of the original Truth. But its aromas leap right out with much more than just slight hints. A radiant bouquet of juicy citrus, tantalizing tropical and plump orchard fruits flood the nose in the same vein of hawaiian punch and sherbet. Moderate honey and caramel greet the tongue as its first sip is lightly nutty to suggest a mild granola introduction.

And as the hop flavor builds into a juicy lather, the malt flavors retreat and the bitterness begins to grow. Intense grapefruit flavors are a culmination of pink and red variety. But then the mouthwatering tang of pineapple, tangerine, mango, apricot, passionfruit and papaya send an exotic shockwave through the finish. Pleasantly bitter, smooth, but with a stern grip, the taste of lemon leaf and tropical fruit peels link up with peppery pine for a bitter finish that reels the IPA command of taste back in.

Medium bodied and trending drier and drier as the session ensues, the beer's "plump" upstart allows a greater creaminess and malty, fruity heft to be felt. Yet, its finish is supremely dry and clean for an utmost refreshing ale with a clear hop dominant demeanor despite its seductive creamsicle whimsy.

Juicy? I don't think that word means what you think it means Rhinegeist. No New England here - just stale Halloween candy.
Pours a clear orange with a one finger off-white head. The nose is nondescript - hops, and a touch of citrus in the background, but with an almost artificial note. The palate (and mouthfeel for that matter) are where this beer really loses it. Rather than full, juicy fruit notes, the citrus in this beer takes on an overly sweet and fabricated tone. One member of our party likened it to a starburst or old piece of bubble gum having been dropped into the beer and let sit for a couple hours. The mouthfeel is no thicker than standard Truth, and succeeds at neither end of the IPA spectrum: this beer is neither thick and juicy nor crisp and astringent. Very lackluster.
Rhinegeist seems to have taken a (halfway) decent IPA, branded it inaccurately, and weakened what merits the beer possessed.
