I can usually find something to appreciate about every Rhinegeist beer. Nothing is stellar but most are solid, and Truth is an above average ipa that I purchased and enjoy on a regular basis. Now, Crash is a whole different matter altogether. As soon as I popped this can open I knew something was wrong . . . It's the aroma ! What in the world is that smell ? It's a very familiar scent . . . Is it glue, weeds ? No it's something metallic. I'll have another sip. And so it went, sip after sip after sip trying to pin point that aroma. And taste. What ever that aroma is it's also heavy in the taste. Then finally, with about a third of a can to go it hit me . . . THIS BEER SMELLS AND TASTES LIKE A HOPPY SHARPIE MARKER !!! I have almost sworn off reviews but I had to warn some of you . . . If you must try this beer, buy just one and see if you like it. Sorry Rhinegeist but this one is not good.

What a pleasant suprise!! Nice hippy pale ale. Looks beautiful and tastes great. Consider this IPA "light"... Would be great for tailgating or when u are looking for a lower ABV option.

I bought a six pack of this from my local Meijer store. It poured a clear copper with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had hints of citrus peel. The taste leaned bitter and more English leaning. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's another solid offering from Rheinguist.

12 oz. can poured into a teku. Pours a bright orange-gold with a slight haze and two fingers of white head. Smell is bright grapefruit with hints of grass and pine.

Taste is pretty straightforward, but very well done. Impressive array of bright citrus that ranges from sweet orange to bitter grapefruit, and some lightly resinous pine on the back end. Carbonation is crisp and lively, making this a very solid, refreshing pale ale. Highly recommended.

12 FL OZ can
Served in a perfect pint glass

This beer pours amber in color with a slight haze and golden highlights. It is topped with three inches of off white head that leaves decent lacing.

The aroma is floral and citrus. It has a refreshing smell.

It has a nice citrus flavor with a mild pine finish.

Medium mouthfeel

I was not expecting much from a brewery I used to hold in high regard, but this was a pleasant surprise. It is a flavorful, citrus pale ale.

Canned on 8/31/16. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours golden with a subtle haze; big fluffy and chunky off-white head that slowly falls leaving great retention and very sticky lacing. The aromas have lots of bready malts along with some citrus notes. Some lemon, orange and grapefruit is there. Caramel is in the mix. Slightly floral. The flavors basically follow the nose. Lots of malts, fresh bread and grains. More citrus flavors that blend with the malts. Some earthy and floral notes. Solid malt backbone. It's not too bitter. Everything is balanced. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is nice with moderate carbonation. It's fluffy, creamy and smooth. Very easy to drink.

This is a solid pale ale. It's more of a traditional example of the style and isn't anything flashy, which is just fine. Nothing too crazy, but it's enjoyable stuff.

On-tap 10/23/2016 at Natty Greene’s Tavern in North Attleboro, MA, served in a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a dark gold color, with a short white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is faint but contains caramelized malts, citrus and earthy hops.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of caramel and citrus. Then a decent earthy hops bitterness comes in. The malt character is hearty and provides a good balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, this is a solid beer to drink for a while if you’re in the mood for the style.
