Notes: Rare are moments of truth, when you've struck the last match, belting out tunes with your friends, staring deep into the campfire-times when you feel infinite. Our truth is found in the scintillating brilliance of hops. Brewed with a nod to the pacific, hops sizzle with tropical fruit aroma, grapefruit & mango notes and a dry finish.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a burnt orange color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of pine, some citrus. Taste is piney, minty, hints of citrus, moderate bitterness. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer and very easy drinking considering the abv.

Pours golden with white bar pour head good lace. Nose is pine and fruity citrus. Taste is pine and citrus fruity some grapefruit. Lingering pine bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium lightly peppy carbonation that brings out the bitterness. Overall not a bad IPA nothing to really knock it for but nothing to great to make it a regular.

I did not like the finish on this one (didn't finish clean as it left a noticeable aftertaste), otherwise it's an average IPA. Decent hoppiness for the hop lovers out there.

12 oz can, 10/22/19
Ploughshare Widemouthed Glass
Thanks Kevin!

Caramel-toffee color with a tall fluffy head of 2 fingers, receding to 1, and leaving tons of lush lace.

Aroma of fresh pine and citrus, with shades of evergreen, mango, white bread, and brown sugar.

Flavor brings forth tons of evergreen and pine, almost minty even, with tailing notes of grapefruit peel and peppery wood. Tons of malt here as well - bready and toasty, with hints of brown sugar, more mint, and caramel sauce.

Feel is resiny all the way home, with a moderate to high amount of burning alcohol but completely welcome here; sticky icky hop cling, and a moderate carbonation to keep it lively. Dry resiny finish.

Overall, a very nice mash up of west coast and middle US, very minty and piney, good for those looking for a heavy palate scrubbing west coast fix.

Truth has a thick, off-white head of foam, a brilliant gold-orange appearance, lots of powdery sediment, and heavy glass lacing. The aroma is of hop resins & white bread crust, and the flavor is similar, with strong bitterness. The mouthfeel is high medium, and Truth finishes mostly dry.

A benchmark for IPAs east of the Mississippi, I found Truth much better than most of Rhinegeist's other beers. I think it's crispier and more drinkable than many renowned IPAs from the Western US. A very refreshing zesty beer with a slightly metallic finish.

Copper orange in color with a light haze. Poured with a tall, creamy, off-white foam with moderate retention. Citrus, tangerine and orange peel aromas with caramel malt. Medium bodied with medium light carbonation. Soft, creamy smooth feel with light warmth from the middle to the end. Citrus hop flavors up front with over-ripe pineapple notes that quickly transition to an earthy dankness. Solid malty backbone with caramel note from start to finish. Medium hop bitterness through the middle. Sweet melon and over-ripe pineapple flavors on the back end along expanding dry boozy warmth. Finished semi-dryly with caramel malt flavors and earthy, spicy bitterness that slowly tapers. Nice look and a great smooth, soft creamy feel. Aromas are mellow and subdued but inviting. Nice hop complexity and warmth that is nicely balanced by the malty backbone. Easy dry finish that wasn’t overly bitter. Tasty, easy, and enjoyable. This was excellent.

12oz, canned 07/09/2019. Clear copper colored ale is capped by a frothy beige head that leaves thick lacing on the glass. Pine, citrus, tropical fruit and caramel malt for aroma. Great balanced flavors of caramel and toasty grain along with pine, orange & grapefruit zest, and some mango. Medium body, ample carbonation, bitter yet balanced finish. Glad to finally try this one! Just as good as I expected!

Pours a cloudy amber with scant white head and effervescent.
smells of tropical fruits, biscuit
Taste is tropical fruit, citrus, molasses, vanila - piney resinous notes with caramel notes to balance out
mouth feel is medium - good astringency - well balanced between sweet malts and hops
I'm not a big IPA fan - this is easily the best, most balanced IPA I've had - definitely my new favorite

Excellent ipa, good strong hop flavor, explosion of fruit and pine flavors, but never overwhelming. Gets better as it warms up, which is always a sign of a well crafted brew in my book.

Pours quite orange for an IPA with a rather frothy head; only slightly hazy. Excellent lacing during drinking which saves the look score. Aroma contains some fruity hop along with sweet malt, nothing to write home about. Taste follows with grapefruit leading the way along with some caramel malt and a little bitterness to end each sip. Mouthfeel is fine; this is a decent IPA which I was happy to try yet nothing I'm going to go out of my way for to try again.

Neither an East nor a West Coast IPA. It has an impressive flavor kick without being too bitter or fruity. Worthy of being a go-to. Not quite sessionable, though - when I have had 3 in a sitting, the third tastes far too piney.

Perfect! I found this gem at my local distributor. It was a new brew for my area, so I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. It's everything I want in an IPA. Decent ABV, great citrus taste, no weird aftertaste. The logo and design is even cool. I will buy this brew again and I highly recommend to any IPA fan.

L- pours orange with white lacing. Not transparent but not too hazy either.
S- aroma is faint citrus fruit.
T- upfront there are notes of grapefruit, orange, faint mango. That gives way to malt and hoppy bitterness. The finish is way too dry for my taste.
F- decent mouthfeel, not too watery.
O- this is good but not great. It is also an example where freshness makes a big difference. I’ve had this beer only a few days old on draft and it is pleasant. The citrus and fruit comes through and helps balance the taste. But out of a can a few months old the fruit flavors are muted and the less pleasant aspects of the beer dominate to the point where it isn’t worth drinking unless there are no other good options.

tropical fruit aroma, grapefruit & mango notes and a dry finish

Poured a seethru orange body with minimal head and lace. The aroma is citric with some grapefruit and minimal hop bitterness. Light and crisp, a somewhat bitter juicy hop presence of citric and grapefruit is noticeable and the beer has a crisp, dry finish. Balanced IPA that combines sweetness and mild hoppiness for a light and enjoyable beer.

Out of a 12oz can, dated 8/10/18. Slight hoppy nose at beginning. Great lacing, cloudy dark orange color. Taste is a little acrid and bitter, but not disagreeably so. Balanced well enough to be drinkable.

12oz can. 8/24/18 can date. Appearance: Dark golden and mostly clear. Quite a bit of coagulated protein floating. Fluffy white headcwith nice lacing.
Aroma: Citrusy, slightly spicy hop aroma. A touch of roasted bread as well.
Taste: Caramel and toasted bread crust maltiness dominate upfront. Slight grapefruit hop character that builds to a strong bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate carbonation.
Finish: strong lingering bitterness and bread crust maltiness
Overall: Decent take on the more traditional american IPA, with a bigger malt backbone to balance the aggressive bitterness. Has the caramel and bread crust maltiness typical of the original AIPA style. Hop aroma is relatively restrained, leaning towards a traditional citrus/grapefruit as opposed to common tropical fruit aromas found these days. Has a heavier body as well

12 oz can from Ohio with a 30 May 2018 fill date stamp served in a pint glass in August 2018.
Pours orange-amber with a tall, creamy, off-white head. Great lacing and decent retention.
Markedly fruity aroma featuring citrus with some alcohol esters and a touch of dankness.
Mild+ bitterness for style with touches of sweetness at the front of the tongue but with a moderately bitter aftertaste. Good complexity and balance.
Near full body with medium carbonation.
Overall: a fine IPA that, at 7.2% ABV, is dangerously drinkable.

Served in pint glass. Pours a beautiful rich copper color with medium head. Good lacing on glass.

Strong grapefruit and citrus. Earthy, pine with slight hint of malt.

Semi-sweet, fruity taste with a crisp and dry finish. Perfect bitterness for my palate.

Very good, West Coast take IPA. Best Cincinnati brewed IPA in my opinion. Borderline sessionable as a 7.2%.
