Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass at the World of Beer in Pooler, GA. The appearance is a pale urine color and this was the highlight of this whole ordeal. The the aroma and taste were "skunk" driven. Not a good experience at all.

I've read some reviews comparing this to an alcoholic beer..which makes no sense to me. These non-alcoholic beers are in an entirely different bracket. They just don't taste like real beer. That said, I'll review it against other non-alcoholic beers.
I find it not too bad. I've actually got to the point where I look forward to having one. Some other are quite dreadful, but I find this one less so. It does taste like a beer..once you've forgotten what a real beer tastes like.
And it's not a low-alcohol beer according to the label. It's a zero alcohol beer. (0.0%)

Comparing only NA beers, BUD Light and Miller Lite, not my favorite Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.
The color was a light straw yellow.
This was the one N/A beer that poured with a 3 finger head.
It gave off a nice balanced beer aroma from the head.
Wow! The taste was that of REAL beer with a very balanced barley malt and decent hops flavor.
The overall taste and body was better than any US or other import light or NA beer, except the German Clausthalers!!
Thanks to Duke Wilhelm IV's beer purity regulation of 1516, the Germans make an NA beer that tastes like a BEER!

For an N/A beer the taste is there. Tastes just like normal Beck's, tastes like alcohol is there but they claim it's only .5. I suggest drinking straight from the bottle, tastes the best just like that as long as it isn't hit with sunlight being it is a green bottle so they can skunk pretty quickly.

There was a point, a few years back, when I was on a style kick, drinking widely of one style until I either exhausted the available commercial stock or my palate became exhausted. N.A. or Low-Alcohol Beers were one such instance & I was recently surprised to realize that I have not previously reviewed this one. Time to make up for lost time!

From the bottle: "Beck's Quality[:] Brewed Under the German Purity Law of 1516".

I Pop!ped the cap & gave it a pretty heavy-handed pour. This brought up two-plus fingers of dense, puffy, eggshell-white head with decent retention. Color was very light, Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4) with NE-quality clarity. Nose definitely had the familiar DMS/cooked vegetables smell as well as a light skunkiness. Another big score for green f**king bottles! Mouthfeel was medium, very effervescent and well-carbonated. Taste was almost tasteless. It was about as mild and unobtrusive as anything that I have ever partaken of. My second sip gave me a light hop astringency, but that was about it. I could have been drinking anything! This was nothing. Finish was dry, yet wet and cold on a hot summer's day for a bunch of antithesis for you poetry lovers out there. I was not in love with this beer. Blah!

It's not *good*, but it's better than a lot of the other widely available non-alcoholic options (O'Douls, Labatt 0.5%, etc.,). Indeed, the fact that this stuff is herbal and pretty reliably skunked up is, oddly, to its advantage--because it covers up its (and non-alcoholic beer's more generally) many flaws.

Taste is garbage. What did I expect from a nonalcoholic beer

A: crystal clear; pale gold in color; 1 finger white head that receded to a thin collar; OK lacing;

S: DMS and fresh wort;

T: follows the nose; light sweetness; virtually no bitterness;

M: light bodied; moderate to high carbonation - a little effervescent;

O: pretty undrinkable;

Toasted rice in and toasted rice coming out of you. (Think: asparagus)
