I delivered beer for 30 plus years for a company that handled many many brands.
I sampled them all at one time or another. I finally settled in as being a Beck's fan for quite a long time as well as being the one for the foreseeable future. Well that dramatically changed. I called the number on the back of the bottle twice to vent my dislike of their new product in the same bottle and of course they swore that nothing changed. I'm glad I found this web site because I am still highly bitter over another instance by big business to worship the mighty buck and throw out the quality of a product that I really enjoyed. These companies need to loose market share and their profits for the bone head moves they make. I decided to pick a case up for the Thanksgiving holiday to give it one last shot to make sure it wasn't all in my head. What a mistake; since I stopped drinking it shortly after the change in where it is brewed, the taste of this is horrendous. It's actually worse than a cheap crappy American made beer. I gave it a 1.5 in the appearance department, but that's the highest I can rate it because it really is not worthy compared to what it once was. This is as constructive as I can get so delete my review if you must.
I feel a lot better now that I at least had the chance to type this. I still do wish this stays on this site so my review supports the people here that understand how a good German beer went up in smoke.

I deleted my last review of Becks which was a foreign licenced version, this is the real German stuff...yay.

Really intense and strong hopiness coming from the bottle. Once pored, the aroma is kind of sweet and musky, with prominent German hops. Quite a pale appearance, and a light head.

Very light taste, lighter than I was expecting. Tastes much better straight from the bottle. Likely because when drinking from the bottle, it swirls around more and the flavours come more to life. A rather thin and simple mouth feel.

Becks was my favourite beer as a teenager in England, so it is a little special. The hops taste amazing but for me the flavour is a little too light, and from memory I actually found the UK and Romanian brewed versions seemed to have a stronger flavour. Malt is also very light, almost tastes watered down. Maybe it's because I accidently let this freeze in the freezer last night, not sure.

Overall I'm a bit disappointed, I would say that this could be amazing with more hops, but this current bottle is just easy drinking for beer newcomers.

I’ve only consumed the American brewed version, Not a bad beer at all, but far from a good beer. Crisp and refreshing on a hot summer day, widely available, just not very unique. Would definitely purchase if there were not any better Euro-brews were available.

The beer I am drinking is the product of USA. The smell and mouth feel are fine. The look is not good because even in a clean Stange it did not hold a head and it gave absolutely no lacing. The taste is awful. It tastes like rotten vegetables and skunk. How a beer packaged in a can could skunk, I have no idea, but this one managed. Up until this beer I actually believed the adage that there are no bad German beers. Well - this one is bad. Honestly, it is disgraceful.

Poor? Really? This beer is good, $1.50 per 16 oz can. Looks ok, smells, tastes, feels, good. Reminds me of my old (pre-craft) favorite, Lager.

From the bottle clearly marked "Product of USA," it pours a clear yellow color with a modest white head that slowly reduces. The nose gets a very light grassy, grainy scent that a friend does not like. The mouth gets a light malt brew with a tiny bit of bitterness.

Do they use molten steel as an ingredient in this swill? Not the Beck's I remember, back when it was brewed in Bremen. Disgusting and offensive.

Poured from a 12oz green American bottle with a convoluted date code.

On a harder pour 4 fingers of bone white head form, then slowly recede over a couple minutes to 1cm of foam. Lacing is not left. Body is a clear golden straw .

Aroma is light and mediocre. Certainly not a true German pils, but better than most ABInbev products here in the states. Doughy with a slight hint of bread yeast. Very low, almost nonexistent herbal, earthy, and skunky hops.

Taste is almost lighter than the aroma. For a German beer this would be considered light, but this isn't a watery American ligjt beer quite yet. Still MHL is more flavorful, but I will say the malt tastes more natural than most AALs. Sweet but crisp, zero bitterness.

Feel is again very light, with a slight astringency. A slight malty finish sticks around, but for the most part this disappears fast on the palate.

Overall this is better than expected for being brewed in the US by AB, but if it weren't for the reasonable price you'd be much better getting any pils that's imported or craft.

First becks ive had that wasnt brewed in bremen. so a long time. pours nothing like any german lager i've ever had, very little to no lacing, head retention does not exist, smells metallic. Taste follows, initially sweet but then drastically turns into a metallic offputting flavor. cant shake the metallic flavor. this sucks.
